This place is enough reason to make the trip to Lamma Island alone! The staff is so friendly and helpful, and always tries to ensure their guests are comfortable. They make an effort to be personable and get to know their customers, giving it a super welcoming and relaxed vibe. The outdoor seating is some of the best in hk in my opinion! Right on the water with an unblocked view looking out. Amazing views of the pier and outlying islands in the back area if you manage to grab a seat! That being said, they do take reservations, so it's not the worst idea to call ahead if you're visiting on a weekend. They also have a couple of tables outdoors on the street side, and there tables have fans which is a real treat in 40 degree weather. Yet another thing I love about this place is the book deposit. You can donate books you've finished with, or buy books for just $10HKD. It's become a problem - every time I leave with a backpack of books I have zero room for. Now finally, the food. I have only ordered the pizza, but man is it unreal. Very flavorful but well-priced. I have heard wonderful things about the other dishes - the salads are supposed to be quite tasty!
So long story short don't hesitate - just go to...
Read moreIt was a last minute decision that brought us to Lamma Island... after a week in Hong Kong we were fed up of the hustle and bustle of the city... so it was decided there and then to jump on a boat for some much needed peace and quiet! I knew nothing of this place but I instantly loved the relaxed nature of the island. We came upon the grill in much the same way, a happy accident. With an amazing view of the harbour (and a pretty decent sunset to boot) we managed to ignore the rowdy (but good natured) table next to ours and placed our order. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered wine which, thanks to happy hour was good value. The pizza we ordered had a tasty thin, crispy base and was very enjoyable. Our visit to Lamma was brief but will stay with me for a long time as one of my most enjoyable memories...
Read moreOutstanding food and service. Went for an early dinner on a weekday and had an awesome experience. The three of us shared spaghetti in black truffle bacon cream sauce, rack of lamb, and half rack ribs. Entrees arrived at the same time, ribs fall-off-the-bone tender, lamb full of flavour and cooked to requested doneness, pasta was al dente and sauce was tasty with plenty of mushroom and bacon. Portions were very generous. Meat dishes served with greens, coleslaw, mash and hand cut fries (outstanding fries). Chef Nick and server were friendly and courteous. Decor is casual and relaxed. Restaurant is clean. Price of food and drinks very reasonable, you can easily pay twice as much in the city. Will definitely go again next time I visit...
