Okay this is going to sound weird, but this shop serves the best 肉夹馍 (roujiamo, burger-like dish from Northwestern China with ground meat and veggies) I've ever had. It was prepared by this smiling woman (maybe of Uyghur origin?) and it cost me 10 yuan (1.5 US dollars). I also had a soup of knife cut noodles and some cold marinated cucumber slices, everything was good (I was so happy I gave 50 instead of the asked total of 32) but the 肉夹馍 was absolutely awesome. It had obviously just been made, was served in a tiny paper bag, and at my first bite this tiny ordinary looking noodle shop became my own little 肉夹馍 temple -- yes, temple! The seasoning is perfect (the cumin is strong but not overpowering), the balance between meat, onion, etc., is just right, and the bread... I don't know what they did to it, maybe some toasting, roasting, steaming -- wherever they did, they did the right things and in the right order. Slightly crispy outside, tender inside, much unlike most instances I've had so far where the bread is mushy and really isn't designed to offer anything interesting apart from being a vehicle for the filling. I had a plane to catch (and had already mostly finished my noodles) or I would have ordered two more. At least. But that terrible mistake shan't remain for very long without a redemption.
