The view was really great and the atmosphere is pristine. But that’s about it. The food was meh if im being nice, downright to the drains if I really am being critical about it.
For starters we have the soft carb salad, and the sliced fish with lemon. The fish is good. The salad? I dont know what kind of greens they are using here, but other than the papaya, it all have this texture like wax paper.
Then we ordered two soups with the puff pastry. I dont know who has the creativity to put puff pastry on a creamless mushroom soup, and it’s practically just purée mushroom at this point, but please leave your creativity at home because these two dont match. The puff pastry in the soup just taste wet, with no extra flavour, and the soup itself is just fair. And honesty, look at the picture and please just tell me why would you serve a puff pastry soup with a collapsed dome. That is already a huge red flag.
For the main we had the duck breast and the salmon omelette. The duck breast was good and crispy, but the two slices couldn’t even cover my left palm. And then we have the omelette. It looks fluffy, but it taste bland. If you take a look at the photos, there are water leaking from the omelette. That’s disgusting. And then the salmon and the crab taste like they are way past their prime and maybe are harvested before WW2. They taste like seasoned veterans coming out of a war zone with sweat and blood fermented with flesh. It was a symphony of rotten tastes.
The dessert was okay, but we asked for the dessert right after we finished the omelette and we waited for 20 minutes for it to be served. And the Millie feuille is not crunchy. It was just wet again. It feels like it has sat on the fridge for 3 days, which is so funny because by the time we waited for the dessert, you’d almost felt like it should have been straight out of the oven.
Honestly, coming here once is enough, and just order the drinks. Two stars for the atmosphere as the servers there...
Read moreWe booked a table for 2 plus pet for lunch on a cold day (9C). We decided to leave our dog at home and they were very accommodating and sat us inside. Decor was nice and modern, toilets immaculate. The only thing I would say, the restaurant was cold, temperature cold. There wasn't a heater in sight inside the restaurant and 90% of the patrons were wearing their coats, scarfs, beanies, bubble jackets. This not only affect comfort but also the food. There were heaters at the outside seating areas.
Food was good, had Lamb Shank and Sirloin. Usually set menu includes tea OR coffee but in their case, it was tea only, coffee was additional $30, you could use brewed coffee instead of it being restricted to addition charge for expresso coffee.
Overall service was good, but some minor attention to detail could be improved. We asked for hot water since it was 9C, waiter obliged but unfortunately spilled a lot on the table, didn't come back. The main dish came, waitress promptly placed it on top of the water. She didn't notice the water. Did it affect the food or us, definitely not but that isn't the point.
Appetiser was Pumpkin soup, very nice, dish was removed in timely manner in preparation for main course. Main course finished, requested 2 set menu tea. Tea were placed at corner of table, while we pushed out obviously finished main plates into the middle of the table. Never came to clear the plates.
Would we come again? Yes. As to those 'little attention to detail' it's a zero cost item, especially in this covid 2 person time where capacity is...
Read moreThe lakeside restaurant offers you the wonderful scenery, but the meals are really at high pricey side. Really a place for tourist. We wanted to have a high tea moment afternoon. So, drove up there, and lucky to have seats on holiday.
No high tea, and when you looked up their menu, you couldn't find any comfortable pricing for a lunch set or simply foods. A Spanish seafoods paelle is close to $900. I wondered I would like to take such risk at here.
So, to play safe, we ordered desserts and drinks. Anyway, it's just for relaxing and chats
Their desserts are excellent in display n tasteful, if one not measured with price. The lemon tart even was tiny small, but with a fresh Basil leave, really balance the lemon taste with the fresh favor👍 The Earl Grey tea was using tea bag, which was not matching with their luxury style.
The Honey Waffles was also good, again in tiny size. Reflecting here is offering luxury dishes, even side dishes
The coffee somehow was very disappointed, no strong coffee favor, even black coffee or Cappuccino that I ordered, good looking with cinnamon on, but no taste at all.👎 I wondered they gave me wrong coffee too, it was not like Cappuccino. See, how their service was.
The building outlooks like a kind of temporary structure for movie, nice but not strong with details, interior structure is all right, but all the lawns are using synthetic grasses , which was the worse part of this place. Telling you that the place are...
