Fu Zheng Yi San Xia Guo Da Yong Fucheng Branch — Restaurant in Zhangjiajie

Our first meal in Zhangjiajie after checking into the hotel was a letdown. We ordered the famous local dish sanxiaguo (三下锅), along with stir-fried brinjal and long beans, and a bowl of vermicelli. We specifically asked for less oil and minimal spice—but unfortunately, we didn’t think to request less salt. That turned out to be a big mistake. Every dish was unbearably salty, as if we were eating straight from a salt shaker. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she was apologetic and explained that the salt level was normal for locals. The staff tried to balance the flavors by adding fresh vegetables, but it didn’t make much difference. In the end, they kindly offered us a complimentary bowl of plain boiled bean sprouts. The waitress was polite and helpful throughout, so we appreciated the service. Perhaps we should have been clearer in asking for less salt...
