The distribution of the place was very interesting, with the kitchen behind glass panels at the entrance. There was a live dj, but the volume of the music wasn't obtrusive. The only downside is that it felt a bit cramped.
Service was standard. We were greeted at the entrance, and cordially served.
The food is thought of as a fusion of Colombian and Nikkei cuisine, but I'd rather describe it as a fusion between Colombian and, either standard Japanese cuisine (like makis or onigiris), or Peruvian cuisine. We had:
Corn bread: a service from the house, it was my favorite, together with the arepa.
Grilled octopus 🐙, tender and flavorful.
Arepa de choclo 🌽, dressed with cheese and suero. I'm not really sure what was on top of the dish, but I suspect it was caramelized onions, and it was delicious.
Flank steak 🥩, in salsa criolla. The meat was tender, and it came accompanied with a potato gratin. The sauce was very on point.
Chicken breast 🐔, in salsa de ají. Over a bed of rice; the rice was a bit burnt (most likely on purpose, but I didn't like it). The sauce was good, but a bit too salty.
We also ordered two cocktails, one of blackberry with sugarcane and gin, the other one with pineapple and tequila. Beware, they do not spare alcohol for...
Read moreI only speak English and there was no one on the restaurant staff who could or would assist me with the menu. The QR code for the menu did not work to get an English menu. I was left seated at the bar from around 9 pm and ignored. I was able to ceviche after complaining the first time of many (was delicious) but no one came to let me order an entre or desert. When I finally spoke up I was told the kitchen was closed and I could not be served. After asking to speak with the manager they managed to find some chicken fettuccini (too Salty), and a desert. The manager told me,"we did help you, we got you ceviche", I said, "what about dinner?" Then he could no longer understand English. I had to argue to get served. I would have expected the restaurant to say sorry, perhaps desert is on us. No way! I was told they tried to accomodate me. Finally on the way out there was a big puddle of water on the floor, and I slipped and almost feel down. The manager saw me almost fall and again did nothing. The restaurant simply does not care to help people who cannot...
