We went in with a positive attitude considering their 4.4 rating and good recommendation from our Uber Driver bringing us from the Walled City. We are from Arizona, so there are as many Mexican restaurants as there are panaderías in Cali. As we walked in we thought thumbs up to the decor and atmosphere. Maria was our Server and she was very nice. We ordered drinks. The Margarita was so-so and the Sol cerveza was warm. Then, we seemed to be handed off to another Server, but I didn’t get his name because we thought he was the food runner. The Entrada Molletes was sin frijoles and loaded with bland tomates. My Colombiana wife’s enchiladas mole poblano arrived, again so-so. I, the Arizonan ordered the Bandeja Mexicana. It looked and tasted like a sampler from a kids menu. We ate all the food only because we were very hungry and the portions were small. Our plates were cleared and our drinks finished, then were left there for over 30 minutes. We weren’t in a hurry and the place was almost empty, so we just hung out and chatted thinking they’ll check on us soon, but nope. We had to interrupt all the serving staff watching the projection TV to get our bill. As we got our bill, our third unknown server noticed we had a water bottle. She says, oh that’s not on here, I need to add it. Hahajajaja!! Add $10.000 more to an already overpriced meal. Also, menu says Hatsu water, but it’s really Serranía chlorine water! Short version of this long story, save your...
Read moreWe had a group of 7 and only one of us had a good dish, the ribs. The rest was average. The server also wasn’t great. From the time we walked in it seemed like she was annoyed to either be working or to be serving tourists. Since I noticed this early on I tried to be extra nice to her to see if she would treat us a bit better but it didn’t work. It’s never a good experience when the client is having to win over the server… I must’ve said thank you to her at least ten times through the night and not once did she say your welcome. We tried another Mexican spot nearby which was much better and we were thinking about going back but figured we would try this place instead to try something different but it was clearly the wrong decision. If I could do it again we would just go to the other taco spot again. The atmosphere was pretty but had mosquitos and the owner came by and sprayed the area around our table with raid which left an unappetizing smell for a few minutes. Also, 15 minutes after the food and I’m already having stomach issues as I am writing this review. If you are ok with average food you may be happy here but if you are looking for good food and a positive experience this is not the spot. This place is nowhere near the 4.5 stars we saw before...
Read moreI find it extremely difficult to find quality Mexican outside of Mexico… I’m always looking for an authentic taste. Well, I found it! Too bad I don’t live in Cartagena. During a recent trip I found this gem in a residential street.
The atmosphere is great, the food is absolutely fantastic. The home made sauces are to die for.
Great job! I can’t wait to go back numerous times.
Muchísimas gracias por una comida con un sabor auténtico. Absolutamente exquisita preparación, servicio y calidad.
