I have traveled for 10 years and hundreds of hotels , resorts, hostels. This was the worst of them. Also the worst experience. It's very dirty and the bed was wet and uncomfortable cheap. The photos and description are one of the most misleading. The winds were so gusty and water rough . Terrible place to learn kiteboarding. The breakfast small with no water or. Juice and meals more cost more the same as most restaurants in city. The choices are just same o. Juice is less then4 ounce glass is expensive. The beach littered with tarped enclosure I guess their version of gazebos. They talk about family lol. I found it so unfriendly especially the guy in dreads . He so disrespectful. I know he would never talk to me that way if not on property. ||||So immediately upon arrival I had recently broke hand and 2 fingers . Swimming not options. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO DO. THERE WAS NOWHERE TO EVEN DRAW ETC. JUST SMALL DECK THAT SERVED AS EATING AREA HAD FEW TABLES.. THE PLACE IS TINY AND DIRTY .||||After 1 hour before even had bed. I said I will go soon to city and stay.||||So they kept 280 dollars and also ask me give 30 for couple coca colas 2 juice and 2 small meals. Had they offered my 280 i.would have paid plus huge tip. So one night cost me 280$ plus 30 dollars taxis. I Paid 310$ to sleep the worst cheapest dirtiest place I have ever stayed . They after reporting me I was misbehaving and broke rules lol. I was friendly everyone and I'm very kind , social, Christian . The guy in dreads so disrespectful. I forgot clothes there they won't return . It's not family . They just kind for money and you paying them. As soon as I called taxi they were rude , disrespectful in everyday and ignoring me. After now being other hotels after . They are so overpriced and the worst place I have ever stayed in 30 years and last 10 years travel...
Read moreOne of the worst place I have ever been. I booked 3 night and ended up staying not even one day. The place is so isolated that most of taxi drivers don't take you there or are just confuse. There is MOLD in the bathroom, a lot of blood strain on the bedsheets that makes you think the place isn't that clean and there is bedbugs in some places. Because the place is surrounded by green, the mosquitoes are gonna eat you up in your sleep ( yes they come into your room and the hostel doesn't have no mosquitoes protection, they don't provide towels, the room is shared and very hot.) The dorms aren't separated by no curtains so you have zero privacy, there is no space to put your stuff so you kinda have to leave everything there. I asked for lunch and had plenty of time but the reception told me they didn't got much and he ( the reception that is also the manager and the cook) told me he can do something quick like it was his house and not a hostel. Zero professionalism. I had the worst experience of my life and I've been traveling for a long time. THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I dont know why the comments seemed good but the reality is that this hostel looks like a frat dorm of...
Read moreQuiet and Relaxing, But a Bit Lonely
I stayed at this hostel, which is wonderfully quiet and close to the beach. It’s a great spot if you’re looking to relax and recharge. However, when I was there, it was quite lonely. There was one day when I was completely alone, and for the other three days, there were just four of us.
The staff is friendly and makes an effort to chat with you every now and then, which is nice. However, the hostel is quite far from the city center—about 40 minutes by car, which costs between 30,000 to 45,000 COP. Coming back at night can feel a bit unsafe.
At night, the area outside the hostel gets very dark, and it’s not a place you’d want to linger. On the upside, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxing. Just keep in mind that Cartagena is very hot and humid, almost constantly.
Overall, I’d recommend this hostel if you’re looking for a quiet escape, but if you’re seeking social interaction or want to be closer to the city center, it might not be the...
