El Galápago Campestre — Restaurant in Casco urbano de Chía

The place is big enough to accommodate the hordes of complete families that come from the city. There's a separate space for families with pets and that's the one we stayed in as my cousins had their little dogs with them.

Lot of young waitresses, they seem to be everywhere and that's a good thing. The menu is somewhat ambicious and not very well informed. I mean... you won't find Argentinian or American cuts in it, just the same dishes found in every menu in Colombia since a loooong time ago.

Having in mind this traditionalism or lack of informedness, prices are a bit high.

Anyway the food is very well prepared, you don't have the whole certainity of what are you eating but it is delicious indeed. Hamburgers are HUGE. That's a good...

Disappointed with the "Lomo al trapo,", Not sure why many aspects of the star plate in the menu failed. Perhaps no good idea to come to the restaurant on Mondays? It didn't look to be cooked on wood fire, the taste was influenced by a low cost sweet wine, it was cooked rare in a big portion the center, l didn't noted a single grain of salt, it came to the table too cold, the metallic trays were cold too. The waitress supervisor provided an evasive explanation about how they always prepared it in that way. I have ate this kind of dish in other restaurants in the area with better and consistent good results on the table. Other dishes ordered by the party like natural juices and the "morcilla"...

English: We had a really fun time at this restaurant with our whole family! It's a big place with a cool and lively feeling. The house sangria was really tasty, and all the food was delicious. Since the cuts of meat are different in Colombia than in the United States, I asked the people working there if I could see the different cuts of meat before I ordered. They were really helpful and brought me some pieces to look at so I could choose exactly what I wanted. We were able to feed 8 people for a really good price, which was awesome! The only thing is, the music was a little too loud. Even though we were sitting in a different room than the band, it was still hard for us to talk to each other. To make it better experience, they could turn down the volume on the speakers so that guests can still enjoy the music and have conversations.

Español: ¡Nos lo pasamos muy bien en este restaurante con toda nuestra familia! Es un lugar grande con una sensación fresca y animada. La sangría de la casa estaba muy rica y toda la comida estaba deliciosa. Como los cortes de carne son diferentes en Colombia que en los Estados Unidos, le pregunté a la gente que trabaja allí si podía ver los diferentes cortes de carne antes de ordenar. Fueron de gran ayuda y me trajeron algunas piezas para que las mirara y pudiera elegir exactamente lo que quería. Pudimos alimentar a 8 personas por un precio realmente bueno, ¡lo cual fue increíble! Lo único es que la música estaba demasiado alta. Aunque estábamos sentados en una habitación diferente a la de la banda, todavía era difícil para nosotros hablar entre nosotros. Para mejorar la experiencia, podrían bajar el volumen de los parlantes para que los invitados aún puedan disfrutar de la música...
