Great place to enjoy rain. (Talking about a beautiful rainy day)
Location: Heading out of Salento towards Cocora Natural Park (Aprox 2 kms ) to your right hand side lies this beautiful Eje Cafetero style house, a medium size restaurant, surrounded by lust nature and sometimes that great fog that make the cloud forest look impressive.
Interiors: Once a colorful door, our table was simply but well dressed, facing a playground for kids. The colorful walls full of details but not over decorated as other restaurants in the area make a good contrast with the back ground green.
Architecturally speaking, for foreigners or experts looking for some Eje Cafetero houses the place is a delight. Long colorful corridors, ceilings, beams give the place a great character. If windows are open a good glimpse of the interiors of the house could be seen
Food: Now to the point. We were 3 people and asked the following: 1 entry of "chicharron" (pork scratching), 2 trouts "macana" (trout, mushrooms, gratin), 1 baked trout, 1 chocolate pastry sweet, and two coffees. Everything was delicious and main dishes came with a huge patacón (a kind of flattened, crunchy plantain), 2 cokes. Total paid: $104,000 (aprox. USD36) high for local standards, but good price for tourists ( as it happens in every single touristic town in the world)
During weekends, it is very possible to find it crowded as all restaurants in the area, so keep in mind when heading generally speaking to Salento and Cocora Valley. During weekdays is a blessing, a relaxed atmosphere in a...
Read moreWORST SERVICE EVER BY ALEJANDO!!!! Just one start, doesn't deserve this restaurant, my family and my self experienced the worst service in ours life. First, it's a beautiful place, fill up with nature and beautiful animals like bunny's and swings for kids. But as we seated down the server (ALEJANDRO), ask us where we come from. My wife family it is from cali colombia 🇨🇴 and my brother in law and I we are from tUSA 🇺🇸 , but we don't say it. At that moment, the face of the server changed completely, like he didn't want to serve colombians. My family felt super discriminate. But on top of that, he never brows the drinks that we order and one sup for my wife, plus don't say how rude and arrogant (ALEJANDO) was for every question that we have just because he don't like to server to Colombian's because this place it's always full with tourist and he can stell them more easily and more $$ on...
Read moreIt's a colorful, festive place complete with a cute candle burning on the table. I think the menu is pretty interesting and I ordered the trout in a creamy garlic sauce (trucha con ajillo) which was excellent. Being a garlic lover, the garlic flavor did not disappoint! The fish is locally course, delicate, pink and almost no bits to remove (except the head) . The serving is generous, the whole fish, I think. It only comes with a plantain that was pounded flat and fried, a giant "chip" and a small salad that had a light, somewhat sweet dressing.
I was very happy with this find, great food, lots of ambience and right...
