When traveling through the Central Valley City of Atenas, Costa Rica, you will want to stop at Kay's Postres, Café and Restaurante. This place is nothing, if not warm, friendly and satisfying. As soon as we stepped through the doorway, we were greeted and welcomed by its owner, Anya, who acquired it from Kay, the original owner, about 2 years ago. She personally sees to the menu selections, and teaches her kitchen staff how to prepare delicious baked goods and desserts, traditional American fare, along with some Polish treats which include the most amazing Pirogi's I have ever enjoyed!!! It was mid afternoon and we had not had lunch so we ordered breakfast (at 2.pm.go figure!), Pirogi's, and my wife had an exquisite Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Yes, I said exquisite cause it try is! This place is a mainstay among locals as well as Expats so you are sure to find your place with this crowd!

When you add it all up, great service, attentive owners, great food, and scrumptious desserts.. Throw in a respectable library collection of books to lend, and pequeño Polonia shines bright as a go to place for gringos and ticos alike to while away a lunch break or a coffee with friends. Don't miss Wednesday's ladies meeting or a chance to talk to Aña , the owner, a wealth of knowledge. Pequeña Polonia is certainly Pura Vida..

We are from Poland and Czech living in Costa Rica. A visit to the restaurant was planned. The restaurant is beautiful, cozy and has a wonderful atmosphere. The owner Anja does her job with love and within a minute you feel at home like friend’s. The food is amazing, everything is home-made and the portions are so big that we took half home with us. We highly recommend this restaurant 🙏🏻❤️🌈Thank you 💃🏼

What a fantastic find! This small Costa Rican restaurant surprised us in the best way possible. Not only do they serve delicious Costa Rican dishes, but they also offer Polish food, hearty breakfasts, and a touch of European cuisine that truly sets them apart.

The owner, originally from Poland, was incredibly personable and made us feel right at home. You can tell he puts his heart into every detail—from the food to the atmosphere. His passion for blending cultures on the plate really shines through.

Every bite was full of flavor and care. Whether you're craving something traditional or looking to try something new, this place delivers. It was a great experience all around—warm, welcoming, and absolutely worth a visit....

I go to Kays (Now Pequena Polina) everytime I visit Atenas. This is truly a great spot. I can't say enough about this place. The food is amazing and you really have to try their Polish specialities. The service is always fast and friendly. They go out of their way to make sure everything is to your liking. The baked goods are to die for. Even if you're stuffed from your meal take a dessert to go. They recently upgraded their tables and decor giving it a very...
