Marino Ballena Restaurant — Restaurant in Bahía Ballena

Terrible service, we sat at the table and the waiters didn't offer us a menu until I could ask one of them to bring us the menu. About 30 minutes after that no one had come around to check on our order, again I had to chase one of the waiters to get our food ordered. I complained to the waiter but he didn't seem to care.

The atmosphere just got worse as minutes past and past, it took them 1 hr and a half to finally get our food served. We thought this was going to be a quick stop, but it was stressful and finally became a nightmare as we noticed how the waiters didn't really care about providing a good service or to speed up our order.

The food wasn't any great, my wings were good but for the long wait I didn't enjoy my meal, I was truly upset for the long delay and bad service. We also had a Casado with fish that was so poorly served and overpriced, the same with a rice with shrimps that was a little portion and overpriced too.

I had experienced the same problem with service some months ago, but decided to give this restaurant another try. However, experiencing the same service problems is not a coincidence, I read plenty of bad reviews that describe the same issue. I hope management can really do something about the long time it takes to get the food served and to make sure waiters are proactively serving...

If I could gave negative 10, I would.

The food was very bad in a way that you can tell the restaurant and the chef do not care about how it tastes at all.

Ordered cocktail, shrimp rice and one whole fish. Cocktail: barely any alcohol in it; Shrimp rice: no flavor, shrimps are not fresh, tasted like processed using chemical to make it firm, and no flavor at all; Whole fish: undercooked at first, after sending it back, the same fish came back and over fried to be super dry, and no seasonings of the fish at all.

The fish was served with white rice, not difficult to tell it’s old rice, and served after being microwaved, which makes it super hard and dry. Salad served with fish was edible, but at that point, it just grossed me out and cannot really trust the food safety of salad if a kitchen does not care about the food.

Do yourself a favor, don’t go to this restaurant for...

Stopped here because it was close and convenient to where we were staying. We ordered fruit juices - I had strawberry and the wife had mango - and they were both VERY good! As an appetizer we ordered the shrimp ceviche...we were craving it, especially since the soda we had lunch at earlier ran out. VERY tasty and plenty of shrimp...actually more shrimp than tortilla chips that were served alongside. For dinner, we had the beef fajitas, but my wife opted for mixed vegetables instead of French fries. The waiter was very accommodating and made some recommendations for her. And she loved them! The beef was good, but not amazing enough to ignore other menu items next time. Overall, this was a great choice for dinner, a little more pricey than I think it should be but certainly not unreasonable. Very average prices...
