Came for lunch, waited over an hour for food only to be served some hard, overcooked pieces of tuna instead of the mahi mahi fillet I ordered. After having to convince the waitress that this hard pink fish is nothing close to mahi mahi she finally brought it back to the kitchen. She comes back and apologizes that that was the last fish they had. So clearly the chef was aware he was giving me a fish I didn’t order and the scrappy end pieces on top of it. She again apologized and offered me my lunch on the house and even offered me a beer. So after double checking that it was on the house I ordered shrimp rice - a local Costa Rican dish on every menu. Here, without any mention of it they curry their shrimp rice and all it tasted was of curry powder. Because it was free and I waited another 15 minutes to get it I just ate a bit and then left. I’d been here for 2 hours now. I left the waitress a 3000 crc tip since it isn’t her fault. But then she chased me on to the beach saying the food wasn’t free and I needed to pay her for everything except the beer. I refused since I very clearly asked if I stayed and ordered something else that it was on the house. Overall a terrible experience and a complete waste of a beautiful afternoon. On the positive, the vibe is really nice and the French fries are good, although not...
Read moreI don’t know if we came during an off day or maybe their regular chef was not working but our meal was pricy and barely edible. It looked nothing like the pictures in the other reviews. We ordered ceviche and mahi mahi plus two mojitos (one virgin) for a total of 20k colones. The ceviche has zero flavor, no salt or any other flavor. Just bland fish cubes. I was shocked how something cooked in lime could have zero flavor. The “fries” that came with the mahi mahi was completely hard. It was basically uncooked potatoes coated in fish grease. The virgin mojito was so sour, it was essentially a lime-aid. I think they forgot the sugar. The mahi mahi was edible but not pleasant. I am pretty confident this was the worst meal I’ve ever had in life. On the other hand, the service was extremely friendly. The guy who took our order was so sweet, we feel bad that we had to leave this review. We came here due to the reviews on google so I feel obligated to share...
Read moreAfter working up an appetite at Manzanillo beach, we drove down to this cute seaside little restaurant at playa Uva. Fabian our greeter, server, waiter was super friendly and a pleasure to have. The place is so simple and cute, yet the food is anything but. We ordered the burger, catch of the day, ceviche and a margarita pizza. Omg the deliciousness of each dish was more than perfect. The food is sooo carefully prepared, plated, clean, super fresh and each bite was like a new treat to the tastebuds. Best meal so far on the carribean side of Costa Rica. The Mrs ordered a mojito and I went with the margarita, all with freshly squeezed lime juice off course. So refreshing!! Staff was also taking food to guests at the beach. A little pricey but I’d rather skip breakfast and dinner just to have this lunch. Soo good. Great job Fabian and team in...
