We went here on one of our excursions. We had a great long beach ride. The horses were pretty calm. Mine tried to run a little bit. Lol. The views were great along the way on the beach. There was also a dog that followed along with us for the duration of our ride. He just saw us and stayed with us until we got off the horses. He was not owned by the owner of the horses, we asked once we for back. We also had a little.extra bonus by getting off of the beach path and went into a almost farm like, county stroll. There were very few houses, massive trees, beautiful leaves and lush, beautiful green fields. Once we returned to the stable, we were able to wash our hands and what not. While we were waiting for our ride to come we were served a tray of fresh fruit and bottles of water. What a great way to end...

We visited with friends on a Friday and had an absolute blast. We rode cruiser bikes that we rented for $5 for the day. The ride took about 30 minutes--the perfect distance for friends with different biking experience. We entered the beach at Cabinas Punta Uva, where there was parking for at least 15-20 cars and even more for bikes. There were only 10 other people there. After about an hour or so, a few of us biked to the nearby super a little further south (7 minutes biking) to buy lunch food and more beers. The waves were more intense than we expected, but super fun! I would be careful with children or people who aren't as strong of swimmers. We loved that there was no one bothering us to buy something and it was extremely clean. Would go here again on...

The beach SE after the point. A zoo on the weekend when families come packed into their cars or on buses with swimming, cooking and camping gear to make a day of it. Unfortunately leaving a trail of rubbish behind. Also not enough toilet facilites to manage this fiasco. Needs more infrastructure to preserve its beauty. 4WD needed for the road created to drive further along the beach after the accommodation. A dirt road from the main road to the beach. A few sodas and restaurants and plenty of hire gear to be had on an otherwise long beautiful stretch of beach. A nice flat bike ride from PV if you fancy the scenery of the jungle...

Beautiful beach, definitely the beach to hit if you're looking for a place to camp out on. Beach front parking, you can find your own secluded spot, and the sand is some of the best sand I've felt under my toes! You will certainly not be disappointed with this beach! If you are looking for a place to hang out for the day, that is more private and secluded, this beach is your ticket. It'll be hard to find any locals selling goods, food will require you to either run a few min back into town, or plan to bring something prepared or to cook.

It is not bad, but not the best in the area either. The best reason to go specifically to Punta Uva Beach is to rent a kayak for about 15 to 20 bucks to row up river for an hour a half. The beach itself is nice but unimpressive. If you're in the area, I would much recommend you visit Playa Chiquita (you can only access walking through a narrow passage near the GypSea Café, or by paid parking at the Paradise Beach Bar).
