El Patio de Tortuguero — Restaurant in Colorado

Hostel Review - the dorms here are amazing, super comfy beds, towels and blankets included, AC, super clean, fridge in the room, hot showers!! One of the nicest hostel rooms we've ever stayed in. It's not a super social hostel but I don't think this is really an issue in Tortuguero as there is a lot to do!

There is a microwave, kettle, and coffee maker up by the dorms. I wouldn't recommend using the kitchen, the hostel kitchen is actually located inside the restaurant and the restaurant use it as a secondary kitchen as well so not only did we have the guests of the restaurant as an audience (and also thinking we worked there) but we also had the staff using the kitchen too and we felt quite bad being in their way. Here is the deal: the food is good, not excellent, but far from bad. Size of the plate was alright. Price above average. ~6500 colones for a chicken carribean style with rice & beans.

The Service: terrible. The waiters are unmotivated, only came by 3 Times: for ordering, bringing the food and taking the empty plates. Paid no Attention to anything and can't even properly walk, but scuff the feet across the floor. Guest friendly and motivated is Something else.

Price for a pina Colada is 4000 colones, and it's not only overpriced compared to other Restaurants in tortuguero, it was the worst Cocktail we had there. No fruit, lots of ice and small. Feels like a rip-off.

Was recommended to come here for dinner, had asked earlier in the day if Rondón would be available but because they didn't get the fresh fish in, it wouldn't be. High respects are due because I'd rather know that they're not just making it because of demand. Came back later that night to have a bite and we were literally forgotten about for 45 minutes after putting drinks and an appetizer in. After speaking to another server, we changed our cocktails to beers and made sure our dinner was put in. When we finally got our food, it was delicious. Really good actually. Great place for a sunset beer, limited seating so get it while you can, good food, but don't always expect the best service. Probably won't go back...
