Rancho Manuel — Restaurant in Jacó

I’m truly confused about some of the negative reviews and as owner I would challenge them bc bugs in sitting open space areas??? Yes mosquitoes and crawlers are nothing but common in tropical countries even more so when spaces aren’t treated with heavy chemicals hurting the environment. We had stopped at a few restaurants along the Jaco beach strip and the prices were astronomical and the food below par. Someone recommended this restaurant and we couldn’t believe the quality of food for the price. So much we came back one more time before leaving. The staff was wonderful especially Celia who was warm and inviting and never pushy - despite our many questions. We had a range of orders from 7 people to cover just about everything, chicken, meats, burgers, seafood, everyone loved it even my son who is in the spectrum of autism and extremely picky eater ate chicken strips. Open air with a soda feeling, this place seemed a lot like most other places we've been to. It was not. The food had good portions with low prices and the food was cooked excellently. It was a flawless dinner with good drinks and even better food while we listened to the rain pour into a large central patio. The server spoke excellent English which was very helpful and they let us use their wifi when we had a little trouble. You must eat here. Very comfortable atmosphere. Outdoor covered seating, very cool. The watermelon juice is out of this world. Smashed Plantains dish was huge and awesome!! Their ceviche, shrimp, fish, octopus is amazing. Seafood Rice is very tasty, will have again.
