If you’re are near Jaco, you have to stop in for a meal! It was our favorite restaurant of our stay. A husband and wife team own the restaurant and the service is phenomenal! We were warmly welcomed as “family”, and that’s how we felt our entire lunch. We learned about the traditional CR dishes offered, and they were all delicious. The owner brought us samples of the most delicious juices we’ve ever had. You have to try the pina con arroz! The owner also brought wooden strategy puzzles for my kids to solve while we waited. We were welcomed by Eduardo who was the most friendly guy explaining about Costa Rica’s culture and food. He explained the menu well and even gave the kids puzzles to keep them busy. His wife Carmen does all the cooking, and both are genuine, hardworking people. My husband is vegetarian and Eduardo asked what he eats and doesn’t eat. “Don’t worry, Carmen will make you a typical Costa Rican dish”. And she didn’t fail. Additionally he told me the origin of Tica/Tico. He was very genuine and kind. He gave me some Mezoto to try and told me about its use as a hangover cure and as a probiotic.
