D’Corner is D’Kine!! My wife and I have been here for 10 days now and we’ve eaten here twice. The food is excellent. My burger was cooked a perfect medium rare as I requested both times. I had a side salad withe burgers that was great. I can’t recall ever getting Hearts of Palm and corn in a side salad anywhere in the U.S. My wife had the Mahi bowl the first time and a dinner salad with grilled shrimp the 2nd time. The piece of Mahi was quite generous and the salad bowl had plenty of shrimp. We also tried the Pulpo and Papas, outstanding! Octopus was nice and tender and plentiful. This was a great starter to share. The first time we had the Mixed Ceviche really good The portions here are very generous, much more so than we’ve experienced throughout Jaco. The service has been great. The staff is friendly and they are on point. Again some of, if not the best service I’ve experienced here. The other thing I need to mention is value. As I mentioned the portions are generous and when you consider price D’Corner is easily the best value we’ve experienced here. While it’s not cheap the pricing seems to be about 10-15% less than the restaurants on the main drag by the beach. If you’re looking for good honest food this is the spot. We stopped here for dinner and to watch Monday night football. The environment and music are fun and are very reminiscent of an American bar. We got the shrimp tacos and the buffalo chicken wrap, and both were good but not great. Kind of typical bar food. The mozzarella sticks were really good. The servers were fairly attentive, but we waited quite awhile to get our check at the end of the evening and ended up flagging another server down to help us. Beware of overcharging and double charging. We went twice and each time they double charged us for items. It seems this is increasingly common for restaurants to double charge items to tourists and many pay without noticing. Get the itemized bill and ensure it’s correct.
