El Patty — Restaurant in Limón

We tried the chicken, beef, pork cutlet, and fish with rice and beans (we like the rice and beans over the casado). The chicken was great, the beef was a little chewy but mostly good, the pork was good, and the fish was good but not our favorite out of all the options. The fish was just a little spicy for some of us, mostly because of the spicy, pickled vegetables they put on top. We also tried the jamaica, lemonade, and mango drinks. The jamaica had some ginger in it and it was a favorite! The lemonade was good, but could have been a little more tart. And the mango was just mango, nothing super special about it. Don’t ask to meet Patty, the owner. She’s a savory Jamaican pastry with a seasoned beef filling, the specialty of the house. Delicious!

Soda el Patty is a quaint local joint with also a great offering of Caribbean-style dishes. Pictures of President Obama and Liberty Island on the wall add a warm ambience for patrons.
