Amazing view Amazing Costa Rican Cuisine Amazing service We got here right before sunset at 6:00pm and the view was amazing The food was fantastic and I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant This place serves Costa Rican Food so if you don’t want that stick to your resort cheese burger PLEASE don’t order something dumb like a quesadilla Your in Costa Rica eat something that is native to the area like a CHIFRIJO, CASADO, POLLO CARIBEÑO, PATACONES you can’t go wrong with ordering those it’s the same as if you where in Texas you would order the Brisket when in Costa Rica order the Traditional Plates. If unsure ask a waiter there they are very kind and ask to order an Imperial the local beer tastes a lot like a Modelo. The service here was also great the servers spoke pretty good English and are super helpful just remember in Costa Rica you ask for the Bill, it’s abnormal for a server to come up to you and give you the bill they let you take your time when having a meal. Parking does get full but it looks like they have a new parking lot next to the restaurant so you can park your car right next to where your eating most of the time -Try to make a reservation we showed up before hand and they sat us without one but really try and call and make one it makes there lives easier When driving from La Fortuna be careful the road leading up to the restaurant is narrow and also has a dirt and rock section for about 0.5 miles that is not paved and at a steep incline a 2wd with at least a foot of ground clearance will make it when it’s dry but when raining it will be difficult. AKA if you suck at driving just go in the daytime line at 5:00pm. You can make it up the hill no problem in a 4wd with good ground clearance Super cool place highly recommended if your staying nearby and have a rental car or you can call a UBER...

Our favorite dining experience of our whole trip!! We arrived at 12:30 but weren’t sure they’d serve us because the hours on Google said they opened at 2pm. But it was not a problem. They opened their doors with a smile and allowed us to pick any table, each with a view more stunning than the next. The food was delicious too!! The menu allows you many options to pick how your food is served with a list of sides and sauces. I’m vegan and they have so many options so I opted to do a plate of any different sides so I could taste everything. I also ordered a green salad which came with freshly picked produce from their garden. We loved watching his cooking staff harvesting fresh vegetables for their dinner service.

Pricing is an excellent value. So many restaurants in the states charge for a view like that. Jalapas is just serving delicious fresh food at a great price!

Everything we ate was beautifully plated and even tastier as we sat in awe of our stunning view of Arenal. Almost more amazing than the food and view was the service. Luis, the owner and his family made us feel so taken care of. After our meal Luis showed us the panoramic view from the other side of his restaurant stretching all the way to Honduras. It was breathtaking. There’s no way to not feel the “Pura Vida” when you’re here. We will for sure make a trip back!! Jalapas is...

We had a great dinner at Jalapas after spending a day at the Springs Resort right down the road. We actually found jalapas because so many people were upset about the price/value of food at the springs and mentioned Jalapas in their reviews. All the reviews were accurate!

We shared the caprese with a homemade pesto that was the star of the night. We had papaya/pork tacos and shared the churrasco with chimichurri sauce. For the sides we had sweet potato purée and sautéed vegetables. We also had “bread service” of yucca and chicharron aka pork rinds. The steak was a touch over cooked but still delicious and tender. The veggies and purée were great as well as the sauces that accompanied the steak and tacos. We finished with the lemon pie.

We had multiple guaro sours which were delicious. And at the end of the night they let us buy a bottle of wine to go so we didn’t have to stop again on our way home. The service was great, everyone was so friendly, and the food was amazing and fresh and full of flavor.

Not to mention the beauty of the restaurant. Anywhere you look is a stunning view. We liked it so much we might return again tomorrow night after another day at...
