Huacas Restaurant — Restaurant in Nosara

Huacas is my go to when I want to have a relaxing, delicious meal, with inredible service, and a stellar view. I spend my birthdays and anniversaries here, because they make sure that everything is special. I've never had a bad meal here, and they go out of their way to make sure that you're looked after, and have an amazing experience. I especially love that they're ages 15 and over, so there's no children running around while you're enjoying everything. (I have children of my own, but for a night out, it's great to get away from all kids, and just enjoy the ambiance.) We had a 5 pm reservation, and showed up at 4:45, after driving 30 minutes with our 11 month old, to find that they don't allow children. At 4:45 pm. I can understand no children after 7 pm or so. But 4:45 seems ridiculous. And, no word during the reservation process on Opentable, or on their social media. We were told by others to try Coyol instead. Apparently, the view is even better and so is the food. We went to La Luna (which has beautiful views, amazing food, and allows kids), and tomorrow we head to Coyol. A really disappointing...

This place is known for its views, but since we booked dinner at 7 PM—after sunset—we didn’t get to experience them. That wasn’t an issue for us, as our hotel had stunning cliffside views, so we were able to focus entirely on the food.

Unfortunately, I found the meal very underwhelming. I didn’t enjoy the flavors of anything we ordered, except for one of their mocktails. While our waiter was very nice and helpful, the overall taste just wasn’t there.
