Having Mamagui in Nosara tangibly and meaningfully improved my quality of life in this town. I went to the opening night of the restaurant and immediately felt a deep exhale at the sincere and courteous hospitality, the extraordinarily tasty and creative plates and the feeling that I was valued and respected as a customer. Not to mention the beautiful surroundings that transport you to a sense of being in a piazza in Italy (the fountain, decor etc.). As those who live here or even visit know - life in Nosara often means dust in the face, mud on your feet and your fair share of power outages and trips to the mechanic. So to go to a restaurant like this where you feel elegantly pampered and treated with all your senses relaxes and delights me more than any cold plunge or spa. Not to mention, chef Gerardo’s next level talent and attention to detail rivals any restaurant I’ve been to anywhere in the world (including multiple trips to Italy) and is such a welcome relief from the repetitive and less thoughtfully prepared plates you find at many other touristy spots here. Also the service is the warmest and thoughtful I’ve received here - thanks to everyone at Mamagui who has levelled up this culinary scene for us! 🍷🌹🍝. Also — best...
Read moreGot a recommendation from Mario w/ Pacific Dream to check this place out after he hosted us on an excellent boat cruise. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ate on the early side b/c we had kids and sat at a big round table outside near the fountain. Table was a little wobbly, but not a problem. The outdoor dining area is very pretty with a lot of greenery and a fountain in the middle. We initially had the area to ourselves but it filled up and was lively by the time we finished eating. The pizzas were excellent. We ordered a 4th despite being mostly full. Again, all of them were really good, but The Etna (eggplant, sun-dried tomato, goat cheese) was probably my favorite. Cocktails, wine, and beer were all good too. Definitely worth checking...
Read moreIn dining here for the first time, I had very high expectations from neighbors and friends who mentioned that there was a new Italian restaurant in Nosara. I went with my family who I don’t see very often and was expecting to have a pleasant and seamless experience while enjoying delicious Italian cuisine. To my complete and utter disappointment, both failed to come to fruition. The food took over an hour to come and the plates were small and very underwhelming. On top of that, they did not compensate for their errors in providing us an experience to remember. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to eat a meal in Nosara, especially with all of the amazing restaurant that grace this beautiful town. Do yourself a favor and avoid...
