Great food. I've eaten there in person by myself, and with a large group. Totally different experience than if you order Take-away.
If your dinner comes is supposed to come with rice...then your take-away should INCLUDE RICE.
I had a walk back to my hotel from the restaurant, after work, and I passed by to pick up dinner for myself. This happened to me once before, and I chalked it up to the person in the back "forgetting". However, this time, that I've ordered Take-away, I feel I have to speak up, because to "fix this" I would have to walk back a Kilometer to them to get what should've come with the meal in the first place. If something is served at the table when you eat in, it should come with the Take-away bag.
This isn't a punitive review, rather an awareness one. The food is very good (the Naan could've been baked a little bit more as it was more doughy this time than the past times), and the servers are friendly enough. Just that the back of the house, should think more thoroughly about who they're serving. If they're preparing take-away, there should be no less packed than if it were being served at the table. And RICE should come with...
Read moreUnfortunately, their "Vegan Friendly" menu is not so. Ordered every item from their plant based menu as I am extremely allergic to dairy, this obviously includes ghee. Ordered the Soya Chaap Masala, and specified to cook with vegetable oil.
When our order arrived, the receipt said "Request to cook with ghee; pure natural, tasty and healthy" as well as "Cooked with vegetable oil" under it. This was confusing, but I assumed the specification was noted, and considering it was on the vegan menu, assumed it was fine.
As soon as I took a few bites I began to feel ill, and remained ill for days!!
If you're going to have a vegan menu, you MUST ensure it is in fact FREE of animal products, and NOT cooked in the same cookware where ghee or animals have been cooked!
Besides this, pakora and Chana masala were very salty, oily, and over-spiced; (not referring to hotness level, but it tasted like a whole container of spices was used for one dish)
Please be mindful if you have allergies and choose to eat here, or save yourself the trouble and...
Read moreUnsure of the reason why I was questioned about my financial ability to pay for the meal selected. I actually was slightly offended. You would think for the price I paid the service would be more proficient. Instead of questioning my finances, the focus should be on attentiveness to my table. Larger groups arriving after me and parties of non African American backgrounds appeared to have consistent visits from the staff, but you advertise as an ethnic restaurant. And treat people of ethnic groups as if they are poor. I had to wait nearly 35 minutes for my entrée. In limits exceeding 10 minutes for my drink to be refreshed after it was empty. I definitely don't recommend this establishment. What a...
