Soda La Plaza — Restaurant in Puerto Carrillo

Easily the most highly recommended eatery by the locals. We ate here almost daily during our stay at Carrillo and were never disappointed by the dishes we tried.

Delicious, inexpensive (almost all plates are under $10!), great selection of food, and again very DELICIOUS! We love their variety of casados and the sopas maricos (seafood soup). The fried whole red snapper is also a local favourite.

Muy rico. This place was delicious, fairly priced, and fast. While some of the other reviewers seemed put off by the half convenience store / half restaurant set up, we enjoyed it. The local/traditional feel and open air seating was much more enjoyable/relaxing to us than a more resort style restaurant. We went for breakfast and enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner the same day. The arroz con pollo and anything carne are not to be missed. And if you like agua fresca, the papaya version...

This Soda has a great atmosphere, and the people serving us were patient and kind even though we don't speak Spanish very well (I can talk like a caveman).
