Gordo's Asian Kitchen — Restaurant in Quepos

¡Gordo's Lechón es imprescindible cuando visite Costa Rica! Todo lo que puedo decir es WOW WOW WOW INCREÍBLE! El restaurante es solo para llevar, sin embargo, la hospitalidad de Gordo cuando caminas hacia su restaurante marca la pauta para embarcarte en una gran experiencia culinaria filipina. Durante mi visita, tuve el gran placer de conocer a la esposa de Gordo y su hijo de tres años... ¡hermosa familia! Pedí el combo de medio pollo, así como un acompañamiento en el Lechón. Ambos fueron servidos con una guarnición del arroz más sabroso que he probado en mi vida. La comida era tan sabrosa, sabrosa con la cantidad correcta de jugosidad en el interior mientras mantenía la integridad de la piel crujiente en la capa exterior. La ensalada de papaya terminó el curso con un agradable sabor agridulce que solo mezcló este festival de sabores deliciosos. La mayoría de los restaurantes en Costa Rica atienden sus menús a los estadounidenses. Si hubiera querido hamburguesas, papas fritas, bistec, alitas de pollo y pizza, ¡podría haberme quedado en casa en los EE. UU.! Después de todo, experimentar algo diferente es una de las principales razones por las que vacacioné en Costa Rica. ¡Gracias Gordo por hacer de mi experiencia gastronómica algo para apreciar en Costa Rica! Gordo’s Lechón is a must when visiting Costa Rica!!! All I can say is WOW WOW WOW AMAZING! The restaurant is pick up only, however Gordo’s hospitality when you walk up to his restaurant sets the tone for embarking on great Filipino cuisine experience. During my visit, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Gordo’s wife and three year old son…beautiful family! I ordered the half chicken combo as well as a side on the Lechón. Both were served with a side of the most flavorful rice I have ever tasted. The food was so flavorful, savory with the right amount of juiciness on the inside while maintaining the integrity of the crispy skin on the outer layer. The papaya salad finished the course off with a nice sour tart flavor that only blended this festival of mouth watering flavors together. Most of the restaurants in Costa Rica cater their menus to Americans. If I wanted hamburgers, French fries, steak, Buffalo wings and pizza, I could have stayed home in the US! After all, experiencing something different is one of the main reasons I vacationed in Costa Rica. Thank you Gordo for making my food experience something to cherish in Costa Rica! We were looking on Google maps for a take out spot that was quick and ready. Gordos lechon popped up, and the reviews looked good, so we picked up a special that included a whole chicken and a costilla. They did not disappoint! The chicken was perfect size and so flavorful and juicy. I have never had a costilla before. It had the perfect crunch and flavor. My family enjoyed them both! It also came with some yummy papaya salad. They also have bobba tea, but we did not get to try. Will have to come back for that. We would definitely recommend trying this place! By far the best food we've had in all of Costa Rica. We tried the Pollo Asado at first with some of the Papaya escabeche. What a taste! Unbelievably juicy and flavorful even on the inside. We decided to come back for more chicken, but decided we'd try the Costillas de Cerdo (pork lechon). I'm happy we did, because it was nothing like i've tasted before. Crispy on the outside, but tender and juicy inside. Paired with the salsa, the combined taste was out of this world! Definitely would be...
