La Casona D'Toño — Restaurant in San Antonio

As foreigners, we were blatantly cheated (overcharged). They seemed to believe Americans might complain, but then would just pay the bill and leave. They were right, but at least I can at least warn others. The first trick was 2 of our party clearly ordered the complete dinner plates with fish selected as the meat. They instead served two "filet of fish" plates that were missing complete meal ingredients and cost twice the price. The ladies simply accepted their plates not to delay the meal, not knowing the bill would charged twice the price for less food. One strawberry drink was ordered, but the menu did not have drinks on it. Later the charge for the strawberry drink was charged at exactly double the normal price. We just paid and left, like most Americans I think, so their scams just continue. Beware or...

Owner responded to my fraud charges, apologizing and seeking possible explanations. The fraud was actually worse than I expressed. Not only did the waiter very intentionally change 2 casado with fish orders to fish filets costing double the money, but the chief cashier has her name on the ticket, not the waiter's name. So she had to approve the ticket, including a batido charged at 2800 colones instead of 1400 colones, double the price. The corruption is at a higher level than...

Absolutely wonderful little quaint place on the corner of the road. Our waitress was excellent and the food was even better. We had the chicken fajitas and the fajitas combo. The fajitas combo comes served like a sizzler and is definitely recommended. The cheesecake was so delicious as well, soft and light hello stuffed cheesecake with a buttery delicious crust and a berry sauce on top. We will be back for...
