Restaurante Tecos — Restaurant in San Vicente

So I am from Miami and I've eaten at some of the "best" Mexican (or Mexican inspired) spots in the city. None of these spots SCRATCH the food and drinks I had at Tecos. Let me start with the "Cafe de olla", the herbs, the cinnamon, the QUALITY of that coffee, jesus f$#$ng christ. Then the sopes (I thought I had sopes before, but now they all feel like Taco bell in comparison) were amazing. Then last but not least, the freaking Penicillin cocktail... best penicillin I have ever had. Seriously dude. And of course, you pay a fraction of what you would pay in Miami yet the quality is 10-fold. Hands down the best mexican restaurant I've ever had the pleasure to eat in. Anyone coming to Cost Rica that's going to spend time in the city - you have to go. I felt like was watching the Ramones at BCBG before they got huge as I was watching those guys cook at Tecos. Those dudes are going place man......

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Great experience! 🌮 🍸🇲🇽 Sit at the bar and engage with the friendly owners as they handcraft the food and drinks in front of you. The father is the owner. He grew up in Mexico City. His son helps run it. The recipes are the grandmother's authentic recipes from MX. They made all of our items, including guacamole 🥑 fresh in front of us. 🗓️It is open limited hours so plan accordingly. 🗣️They speak Spanish 🇨🇷 🇲🇽 and English 🇬🇧🇺🇸. 📞Reservations are best for larger parties of people, as it's only usually 2-3 people working...

Still a great place! New hours, some new faces, and the same great service and atmosphere!

The food and mezcal experience, mixed with the personal touch when sitting at the bar top, makes for a memorable experience.
