The often overuse word is amazing, In this case, it really doesn’t justify the experience. Somewhat at a loss of how to describe the experience in a way that you’ve never had before.
Let’s start with Julio our server he set The tone. Truthfully, it felt like we were welcomed in my family. He is needed as an example for all American restaurants because boy did we feel relaxed at home.
I would come here just to hang out with Julio like alone
But let’s get on with the venue. Unless it’s raining, you gotta sit on the patio. It is remarkable. The view at sunset is second to none..
The food was fabulous, but truthfully, this was a customer service Xanadu type experience.
I would fly to Costa Rica just to hang out on this patio and be with Julio to be treated in such a way. You’re the best person in the world..
If you come to Costa Rica You would be missing out on something very special if you missed this place.
If you are staying in the area If you need a personal driver, we found one by the name of Jorge, He came recommended to us by a manager at the Peninsula restaurant.
You might spend a little more, but you are helping a local. He is wonderful you’d be helping him...
Read moreThere were pros and cons to our visit to the Peninsula. Starting on a positive note, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. We were a party of 4 and the dishes were either a total hit or an absolute miss. Their seafood entrees were delicious as was the hanger steak that we ordered; but the Parmesan crusted pork chop was so dry that I had to return the dish. My husband ordered the dry aged rib eye and said it was flavorless. Since I had returned my pork chop, he decided to keep the rib eye which was pretty much left untouched after a couple of bites. We had high expectations for this dish as it ran close to $100 but it was close to being inedible. One of my sons who is a chef said it was the worst rib eye he had ever tasted and had to spit it out after tasting a bite. It was unfortunate that these 2 dishes did not live up to the restaurant's reputation. Also on a side note, I noticed we were charged about $30 over for our bill after I received...
Read moremust go to restaurant. it’s so beautiful & we got the best sunset pictures here. they had monkeys hanging from the trees right off the patio, they said that’s only in march tho. prettiest restaurant weve been to by far. the oysters were amazing. the other food we got wasn’t good but its so pretty that it’s fine and the service is great too. i don’t recommend the islo del coco seafood share plate. half of it was terrible, for some reason they were really bad at cooking fish. it was very hard & overcooked even when they made us a new one, especially the mahi mahi. maybe it was a bad night I’m not sure because you would think that they would be good at cooking fish, but it’s still worth going and getting...
