I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hicaco Restaurant in Costa Rica, and it was an experience worth sharing. This place strikes the perfect balance between elegance and affordability, making it a great spot for any occasion.
I kicked things off with a pineapple mint drink, which was incredibly refreshing and set a great tone for the meal. For my appetizer, I tried the octopus carpaccio. It was light, flavorful, and beautifully presented – a perfect start.
For the main course, I went with the lomito three peppers, cooked just the way I like it. The steak was tender and juicy, paired with deliciously seasoned vegetables and the smoothest mashed potatoes I've ever had. Everything on the plate was bursting with flavor.
Dessert was a real treat: a delightful combination of basil and orange ice cream with blueberry sauce and fresh strawberries. It was a unique and tasty way to end the meal.
Overall, Hicaco Restaurant impressed me with its fantastic food, great service, and reasonable prices. It's definitely a place I'll be visiting again and one I highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Costa Rica for my 40th bday. We arrived on a Sunday and left the following Saturday. Monday night we went in and had Johan as our server. He made my wife some excellent drinks and the food from the kitchen was amazing. Wednesday we went back for an early dinner and had a burger and shrimp. Again we had Johan and the manager Angel also came over and talked to us. We inquired about the lobster experience and decided we wanted to try it. On Friday which was my bday we went back and Johan was there but Angel was now our server. I got to choose my lobster from the tank and they added two others to equal the 1kg you get for the experience. There was live music that night by a great guitar player/singer who took requests (Kenny Rogers!) and they brought me out a bday cake as well. The whole staff and atmosphere were great and I recommend if you’re in Punta Leona or anywhere nearby to...
Read moreThe wait staff was amazing, asked if we wanted bottled or faucet water, and if we wanted to turn on the fan. He periodically checked in on us without it becoming annoying. The atmosphere was laid back, chill music played, not too loud so you couldn't enjoy a conversation. Most importantly the food was amazing. They served a bread with a dip that was to die for and left me wanting more. The lobster in my main dish was cooked to perfection---it did not taste fishy or strong, and it wasn't rubbery. It came out of the shell with ease. Perfect amount of moisture and texture was great. This is not a place to skip...
