Carpe Diem Beach Hvar — Restaurant in Grad Hvar

Disgraceful! Do NOT waste your time. This is the worst club experience I have ever had in my life. I don't even know where to start: strap yourself in for a wild story!

We knew it was going to be an expensive night, we didn't mind though. If this club expects guests to pay a €40 cover charge, you would think they would provide a fair, welcoming and enjoyable experience.

Before I tell my story, I must point something out: if you see any 5 star Google reviews, these have ALL been written by guests who were found with 'contraband substances' on them by security. The door staff force these guests to leave a fake 5 star review in order to be let into the club. This is why you'll notice every one of these reviews says how "great the security/staff/hosts/hostesses are". All the other 5 star reviews you can see with no comments have been posted by guests after being asked by staff when leaving the club. Without these false reviews, this place would only have proper and honest 1 star reviews.

Firstly, some of the bartenders are straight up scammers. My friend ordered a drink just before me; the bartender grabbed the glass, turned his back to us in a deliberate attempt to block us from seeing the fact he did not put any vodka in the glass before filling it with cranberry juice. When we pointed this out and asked for it to be made properly, he became aggressive, swore at us, grabbed my friend's drink and threw it in the sink smashing the glass! We were shocked.

I then ordered three vodka/sodas. He again grabbed the glasses and completely turned his back to us to disguise his underpouring. I could not believe my eyes! As he placed our glasses on the bar, I pointed out the lack of vodka. This man had the audacity to grab a shot measuring glass and pour the vodka into it in an attempt to 'prove' he had provided a full shot.... surprise surprise it barely filled it half way!! (15ml). Once again I pointed out this atrocious display of daylight robbery. The drinks were then re-made somewhat properly much to the dismay of this awful man. I was told by another customer to be careful when paying and to take a photo of how much cash I handed over as these bartenders were notorious for giving incorrect change. Low and behold, he short changed me by €10! It was becoming comical at this point. I then produced the photo of the cash I'd handed him to prove he had stolen money from me.

We are here for the first time with our friends and a big disappointment. It doesn't matter, we were ready to take the risk considering how many negative comments they have and now we can say with great certainty that they are justified.

The prices are high, but I guess that's because this is an exotic place and such places are usually more expensive. What we did’t expect was the great rudeness of the workers, their rudeness, arrogance and carelessness. During our stay, we got the impression that the waiters only want our money and nothing more!

The prices are more expensive than elsewhere, but that's why the quality of their staff IS WORSE than anywhere else on Hvar where we have been so far. The highlight of everything is definitely the waiter's usury! You cannot leave the bar unless you leave them TIP, of course they want EXCLUSIVELY CASH, until you leave them "something" they won’t let you leave the bar.

Of course, by this "something" I don't mean "anything", the waiters know exactly how much money they want to take from you, they mention some percentages in the range of 10 to 15% AND how they don't work for a salary because they work for TIP! I have never experienced anything more shameful in my life. If that's already the case, I think it would definitely be okay to mention it to the guests either at the entrance or when you want to make your reservation, this way it all looks very ugly and unprofessional.

We literally felt like they were usurers, like they intercepted you somewhere on the street and started attacking you, they are literally no different. The guy with glasses and a cap on his head didn't let us leave until we gave him money, he wanted to take more money from us and told us to go to the ATM, but my boyfriend went crazy, yelled at him and we left. At one point I was afraid that they will fight with us.

The attitude of the waiter is terrible and I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone! POOR AND...

If I could give no stars to this club I would. Absolutely do not recommend, avoid if you can.

I arrived, sober and within 5 minutes of getting to the club I went up to the bar and ordered 4 bottles of water for my group at the bar. The drinks were given to me straight away and the bartender said “24 euros” before turning around and walking away. I waited about 3 minutes standing at the bar for the bartender to give me the eftpos machine to pay, eventually myself and my boyfriend grabbed a bottle of water each and turned around to hand my girls them, when all of a sudden the bartender jumps over the bar and grabs my boyfriend, swearing at him as if we were trying to steal the water, keeping in mind I was the one who ordered it and I was standing literally right next to the bar.

All of a sudden the bartender starts swearing at me, as I’m trying to explain to him I’m standing waiting to pay but I don’t even get the chance to explain anything as he swore at me with such profanity I can’t write it in this review.

Me and my boyfriend put the remaining two bottles of water back up on the bar and the bartender eventually gives me the eftpos machine to pay for all 4 bottles which I did, and the bartender then takes the two from the bar and swears at both my partner and I before calling security on us.

As much as security was trying to help, he then took escorted us outside as if we did something wrong, away from the bartender and told us to go back in but around the side and to avoid the bartender however when we asked for the water we paid for he told us there’s nothing he can do and to just buy more at the other bar.

Absolutely wouldn’t recommend this club at all, the male bartender we dealt with was completely out of line and so rude and aggressive for no reason, the prices are absolutely insane and we paid for 24 euro for 4 waters, only getting 2 and getting sworn at to leave.

Absolute waste of 40 euro entry and 24...
