Sveti Jerolim — Local services in Grad Hvar

For snorkelers: I swam around in the cove on the north side of the island. There are many sea urchins, some red anemones, hermit crabs and a few sea snails. I found a starfish when I turned over a rock. Not many fish. There was more life further away from the boat dock. It is very close to Hvar just 10 minutes taxi boat ride at 30 kuna for return ticket. The boats run every half an hour. The island was very quiet and peaceful. There were 2 reasonably good restaurants. Amo on family side and Kordovan on nudist side. The water was very clean but the beach was either rocky or pebbly. Durchaus eine nette Bade- und Schnorchel-Insel, allerdings gibt es nur 2 Möglichkeiten ins Wasser zu kommen, ohne z.T.sehr umständlich über Felsen klettern zu müssen. Eine davon ist zudem direkt vor der Insel-Bar bzw.neben der Anlegestelle. Und hier ist tagezeitlich durchaus was los! Das sollte man wissen. Das Wasser war sehr angenehm und wir haben durchaus einige Fische sehen können. Ein Schnorchelparadies ist es allerdings nicht, dafür ist im Wasser zu wenig los ;-) Schade ist auch, dass die dortigen Gebäude nicht gepflegt sind, alles rostet vor sich hin. Das macht leider einen wenig einladenden Eindruck. Das Angebot der Bar ist okay. Für sonnenempfindliche Menschen: unbedingt Sonnenschirme mitbringen, es gibt kaum Schattenplätze...
