Would leave 0 stars if I could. After a long journey from touring Old Town to get to this place, we walked in and from the get go were ignored by the 3 staff (a more senior lady, a young lady and guy), on 13 July, 830pm. It took them 10 minutes to have us seated, and another 15 minutes to come and get our order despite our numerous attempts to engage them. The service bordered on completely inattentive and non existent to outright rude and actively ignoring us. In particular, the young lady ignored us a few times and was extremely rude. To top it all off, we were seated in a corner where the air con was leaking.
In the end, we canceled the food order because the entire experience was horrible. I only wonder if they treat all customers in this manner, or if it was because we were the only asians in the place. Ironic, since this was an Asian fusion restaurant. We read several other reviews after about similar bad experiences shared by other Asians. Had better service at a fast food chain.
Edit: the restaurant’s reply claims “our employees did everything to find you a table as soon as possible”. Sorry, but that is simply not true. We have been to restaurants which are more crowded and understaffed, but a simple acknowledgment of our presence or even directing us where to wait would be basic courtesy. Instead, we had to walk to the counter to find a staff after waiting at the entrance for a while, and even at the counter we were ignored by the younger female staff who was not doing anything. Whether it is a case of being busy or understaffed, the attitude we were subjected to last night was not normal by any standards, hence why I decide to leave a negative review when I rarely do. This is also rather dismissive of our experience as guests, and tourists visiting your restaurant for the first time.
Word of warning to fellow travellers or those who wish to try this restaurant - you are taking the risk of having your night ruined by rude, or what they are suggesting now to be fairly incompetent staff. There are better restaurants in old town to explore with courteous service and basic...
Read moreWe are regulars at Matsu and Batak. We have been to Matsu maybe 20 times and Batak 40 or more and we have always had a great experience until today. We were greeted Marko who claimed to be the manager and he was arrogant and rude right away. He told us they were full and we cannot be seated, and we said we would eat fast and be out of his way in 30 min and he still refused which is ok we understand he said they were full but his attitude was the worst we have ever experienced. We walked to the car and checked Open Table as the restaurant was almost completely empty. We were able to book anytime we wanted on Open Table so we booked at 19:00 as it was 18:50 and walked back in with our reservation and Marko told us he was going to refuse us but we argued that we had a valid reservation and he finally sat us at a table. He continued to be rude to us and finally said to me "I know we got started off on the wrong foot" and that is when I stood up to shake his hand and told him let's move on as I can appreciate an apology but it was not an apology as he continued to be even more rude and told me what I did he would never do and never came to check on us until he delivered to food and told me to "make some room on the table". Once we paid the bill and left the restaurant was even empier than when we arrived. Read moreAn incredibly difficult review to write. The food received was via Wolt and arrived in good time and did taste really nice. In the order was Salmon Teriyaki for my daughter. On arrival, there was no Salmon dish and upon contacting Wolt support was told various rubbish, including that the restaurant 'don't do Salmon dishes'. This was despite me providing screenshots of my order - instead Wolt referred to my receipt, stating that as it showed Chicken, it was what I must have ordered. Stress levels understandably rise when you clearly show what you've ordered and a delivery company give you the runaround. Whenever I persisted Wolt support terminated the chat. All that I wanted was the correct meal for my daughter, and to be treated like this has resulted in me raising a chargeback with my bank which I didn't want to do. Images attached show both chicken dishes which arrived (the right one should've been salmon), the receipt showing chicken and more. Be careful using Wolt.. again, the fog at this restaurant was really nice but had they used common sense and realised that something is either wrong with their menu on Wolt or their internal system, this could've been avoided.
