Our Summer Trip to Croatia – A Special Time in Soline
During our summer trip to Croatia in JULY 2025, we had the chance to spend some of our best days in the charming village of Soline. One of the highlights of our stay was discovering Restaurant ZUPCICA – a cozy spot with incredibly tasty food and warm, welcoming people.
At ZUPCICA, we were served by Dian, who immediately made an impression on us. When I asked him who he was, he smiled and said, “I’m the waiter, the cleaner, the owner – and the father of two boys!” 😄 His honesty and humor made us feel right at home.
It was also at this restaurant that I tried Croatian PAN beer for the first time – and from that moment on, every time I visited, I ordered PAN. On our last day in Soline, I told Dian we would be leaving the next morning. I also mentioned that on the way back, I planned to buy some PAN beer. To my surprise, and in a truly kind gesture, Dian gifted me a PAN beer as a farewell present. 🥹🍺
I will never forget Dian, his kindness, or the unforgettable time we had in Soline. If you're ever visiting, don’t miss Restaurant ZUPCICA – and make sure you meet Dian. You won’t...
Read moreShocking experience! Total lack of respect and rude staff. Avoid this place. 😱 I asked a glass of red wine and I received hot drink at least 27°C. When I complained about it the very rude staff repeated in an agresive tone that the wine is not warm but kept outside. Outside were32°C today and 29°C when I was served the wine so you can imagine how it was.i was offered ice cubes to cool down my red wine😂. The menu has lack of at least 3 foods. I asked for a pizza with extra corn, onion and peper but I've been told that I can't add anything extra without being charged the maximum price for a pizza that hasn't got those vegetables at all. 🤣As a result of this rude attitude I refused to order any food and asked to pay for the drinks. I was waiting 10 minutes for the bill, altough the restaurant wasn't bussy at all at 6.30pm. Awfull experience....

The staff were friendly and gracious. I ordered a (small) pizza with seafood (mussels and shrimp) and a cappuccino. Coming from America, the pizza was big enough for two people, so I can't imagine what a large would have been. The thing I noted most was that the seafood was so fresh!
Most importantly (for me), they accept Visa and MasterCard (and I think Discover) for payment. I flew into Dubrovnik the day before and hadn't had a chance to get any Kuna, so I was able to just use my card...
