Visiting Havana, Cuba? DO NOT MISS Floridita Bar in Obispo area, Havana, Cuba! Famously known as la cuna del daiquiri or the cradle of daiquiri, - one of the famous cocktails originated from Cuba, this place is such a hip spot to get your favorite drinks, lavish seafood plates and memorable 40s ambience you will love. I came here way before the pandemic and even pas lunch time, the place was still bustling with tourists try to get 'the Hemingway's experience' . This famous American author was a regular here and even had his life-size statue on his favorite spot in the restaurant. I really love the ambience of the place, vividly showing the golden era of 40s and 50s, with draperies, cushions and murals You will love taking pictures here. The food is nice and it is a bit expensive, particularly for the seafood menu. Daiquiri is of course very popular but you also get the 'virgin' one without alcohol or other beverages. the bartenders and the waitresses are super friendly. I tried the Gran Plato Hemingway, soup and salad. It was delicious indeed! When I was here before the pandemic, it was very packed with tourists, be it in the bar area or the dining room. I man not pretty sure whether it is disability friendly but I guess the staff will be very helpful . The restaurant is located in Obispo area and you will find many cintage cars in different make and colors. Highly recommended if you got a chance to visit.

guys lol, it’s super overrated (i hear you saying tell us something we don’t know) ok ok. be super careful they will try to steal you in the conversion since they write on menu prices in MLC and then when it’s time to pay they mention PRICES IN Usd in the receipt so take care. we asked and they said yes because MLC=USD but when we showed them the official app eltoque the waiter said ok ok and agreed to the fair price that should be from the beginning. it is a place full of tourists that just know that this place is popular so it gets more and more people. half cocktails/drinks that they have on the menu are not available and same for food, at least the day we visited. you can visit it for a photo/video. just avoid going to tourist traps there is nothing that you can’t find in your home country. today’s price 1€= approx.320cup= 1,3MLC

El Floridita se ubica en uno de los rincones con más encanto de La Habana Vieja, por no ponernos chovinistas y decir del mundo, en el inicio de la calle Obispo, esquina a Monserrate, justo enfrente del nuevo Hotel Gran Manzana Kempinski. También está a un costado emblemático Museo de Bellas Artes, y con la fachada hacia el pequeño parque que recuerda a Francisco de Albear, creador del acueducto de La Habana. El Floridita (antiguamente conocido como La Piña de Plata) es uno de los puntos de referencia de la buena coctelería de la ciudad. El espacio conserva el glamour y la elegancia que ha tenido desde su fundación en 1817. Aquella frase que se lee en todas las guías turísticas sobre el “marco incomparable” sospechamos que se acuñó por El Floridita. Beberte un cóctel aquí te hace escalar 60 escalafones de golpe en la escala de Richter. No se nos ocurre ningún otro lugar en La Habana más ideal. Se define como “La Catedral del Daiquirí”, “La Cuna del Daiquirí” o “La casa del mejor Daiquirí”, ya que poco después de terminar la Guerra de la Independencia de Cuba, un barman catalán del establecimiento llamado Constante Ribalaigua Vert inventó el cóctel. Un clásico al que Ernest Hemingway rindió tributo en su libro Islas en el golfo al poner a su héroe, Thomas Hudson, a merced de su batidora: “Había bebido dobles daiquiris helados, de los grandiosos daiquiris que preparaba Constante, que no sabían a alcohol y que al beberlos daban una suave y fresca sensación. Como la del esquiador que se desliza desde la cima helada de una montaña en medio del polvo de la nieve. Y luego, después de un sexto u octavo, la sensación de la loca carrera de un alpinista que se ha soltado de la cuerda”. El Floridita, como muchas partes de La Habana, pulsó el botón de pausa en los años 50 y se despertó sin una sola cana. Es uno de esos sitios donde parece que el tiempo se haya detenido años atrás, cuando todo era más sencillo y la gente no tenía tanta prisa.

Hemingway kedvenc bárja Havannában Az "El Floridita" bár több mint 200 éves múltra tekint vissza. 1817-ben nyitották meg "La Piña de Plata" (Az ezüst ananász) néven, és az első naptól fogva a havannai polgárok kedvenc helye volt, majd később Havanna legnépszerűbb bárja lett. 1914-ben, a nagyszámú észak-amerikai turista javaslatára nevét "La Floridita"-ra módosították. A hely az ötvenes éveket tükrözi, megőrizte a múltbeli csillogást eredeti bútorával, a falfestményivel. A legjobb latin ritmusokkal sok havannai zenekar ad itt koncertet. A falakon El Floridita dicsőséges történelméből származó képek és emléktárgyak találhatók. Sok közülük a világ minden tájáról származó hírességek eredeti aláírásával. 2003-ban az El Floridita emlékművet állított leghíresebb vendégének, Ernest Hemingwaynek. A José Villa Soberon által készített bronzszobor azóta is az író eredeti „szokásos helyén” ül. Ernest Hemingway 1932-ben volt először a bár vendége. Akkoriban a Hotel Ambos Mundosban volt szobája, mindössze néhány percre az El Floriditától. Több mint 20 évig hűséges törzsvendég volt a bárban. A legenda szerint 2. 3. 4. Daiquiri után jött az ötlete az "Akiért a harang szól” című könyvéhez. Egy másik mondás Hemingwaytől: "Az intelligens embernek néha részegnek kell lennie, hogy idiótákkal töltse az idejét." 1960-ban járt utoljára az El Floriditában. A bárban született, a katalán bevándorló csapos, Constantino Ribalaigua Vert által megálmodott Daiquiri koktél, a citromlé, a fehér rum, a cukor, a maraschino és a zúzott jég kombinációjával. A bár másik neve "la cuna del daiquiri" (a daiquiri bölcsője). A kubai forradalom után az El Floridita sok vendégét elveszítette az embargó miatt. USA-ból érkező vendégek távol maradása miatt a bár rövid időre élettelen lett. Ez azonban megváltozott, amikor Kubát európaiak, kanadaiak és dél-amerikaiak „felfedezték” fel. 1992-ben a bár elnyerte a "Five Star Diamond" díjat, mint a világ legjobb bárja.

Our tour guide took us yo this restaurant on the eve of Jan 2. Very nice environment and music. But other than those two items, just disappointment. The drinks was delivered fairly on time but it took more than an hour to have the food on the table. Most of the the plates for our group of 12 were cold already. The full fried fish fish, my order, was two dry that I could get barely any meet out of it, maybe it was deep fried several times. The sound level was so high that we had to shout at each other and still had hard time to hear each other. Most of us, even our tour guide were not happy with the selection.

Diese Bar liegt sehr zentral aber etwas versteckt. Am besten vom Parque Central östlich zum Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski wechseln und dann auf die andere Straßenseite zum Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, daran vorbei bis zur Straßenkreuzung. Dann seht ihr die Bar „El Floridita“ zur rechten Hand auf der anderen Straßenseite. Eine historische Bar mit einer echten kubanischen Musik und einer unbeschreiblichen Stimmung. Wir hatten das Glück, das neben der Messingstatue des Schriftstellers Ernest Miller Hemingway zwei junge Leute aus Großbritannien saßen, die uns sehr freundlich dort in die Ecke der Bar gelassen hatten und uns später selbst einen ihrer Barhocker überlassen haben. Die Drinks hier schmecken tatsächlich mal so, wie sie sein sollen und machen damit den Kritikern und Ernest Miller Hemingway alle Ehre. Diese Bar gehörte damit nicht ohne Grund zu den Lieblingsorten dieses amerikanischen Schriftstellers und ab unserem Besuch dort auch zu den unsrigen! 1953 erhielt er den Pulitzer-Preis und 1954 den Literatur-Nobelpreis für seine, auf Kuba spielende Abhandlung „Der alte Mann und das Meer“. Sehr voll, aber immer noch mit Flair! Das Preis-Leistung- Verhältnis stimmt. Die Drinks waren die besten auf Kuba und wir haben schon für schlechte Drinks mehr bezahlt. Für unsere Verhältnisse ist das hier geradezu günstig! Wie man auf einem Bild des Eingangsbereichs sehen kann, ist das Gebäude dahinter auch schon dem Verfall zum Opfer gefallen. Leider trifft das für die meisten Gebäude in Havanna zu. Nur die Gebäude in unmittelbarer Nähe des Zentralplatzes sind noch gepflegt. Hier gibt es durchgehend Livemusik und hier wird damit auch das größte Klischee über Kuba genährt, nämlich, dass dort überall Musik und Tanz stattfindet. Wahr ist, das die Menschen dort tagtäglich um ihre Existenz kämpfen!
