Booked for dinner - to be certain of a table at this award winning restaurant it is wise to book to avoid disappointment, failing to plan is planning to fail. Failing to book means you run the risk of not getting a table, you will not be shoehorned onto a table at the expense of other customers who took the time & trouble to book. Customer experience is important to the team hence why booking is very wise!

Had the usual warm welcome from Graham & his team, you get the same welcome be it first visit or one of many. Taken to our table and our drinks order taken. Again decided on the Keramis Merlot Tsiakkas which is a really nice 16% ABV wine. This wine has converted me from my norm of always drinking Malbec.

The usual amuse bouche was served and tonight it was a hot soup.

For starters had the baked Camembert and calamari, both are very generous as starters. We have eaten these starters before and really enjoyed them. For mains opted for the special of hungarian style ostrich, as you would expect a very rich dish full of smoky paprika flavour! Having eaten ostrich previously this meat was no different, you could persude yourself its beef but there is a taste around it which you know isn't beef. Have to say it was more tender than the meat we have eaten in SA which is likely due to the cooking. Served with a lovely brown sourdough bread which tasted lovely!

Didn't have room for a pudding we felt that full! But did opt for a cocktail and went slightly off piste with a Mocow Mule rather than an Irish Mule which is on the wine list & a Hugo. It's important to acknowledge, please ask the team if there is anything you want which isn't on the menu because if they can accomodate that request they will. And if it is something important to you make contact and speak with Martika/Graham ahead of your reservation.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening thanks to...

This was the second time I've been to Martikas kitchen... We visited to have fish and chips and all x4 of us ordered the same.

As the biggest person there - mine was the last plate to come out and mine was a child's portion of fish... This was a 1/3 of the size of the largest that came out.

I could almost sense the embarrassment of the waitress putting the plate down in front of me

Everyone around me had a decent size fish but mine was embarrassingly small.

Our friends even cut some of theirs to give me....

I didn't complain at the time as I was with good friends, but I want to make Martikas kitchen owners aware that my portion of fish was absolutely substandard and that this needs to be brought to the kitchen's attention.

This is not the type of service you expect from this establishment.

Edit

It appears the owners don't seem to be able to deal with fair and constructive criticism, so please don't worry about me returning - There are many fabulous and consistently great dining establishments that we will continue to visit in the Paphos area. Yours will not be one of them - Second and last visit.

Defensiveness in customer service is really not a good look. I see another person didn't like their fish also which you also got very defensive about....

Pro tip... Visit Suite 48 for a lesson on how Fish and Chips are done - at the same...

Booked dinner for Christmas Eve, and there was entertainment in the form of an Abba tribute. Arrived to a complementary glass of prosecco which was so nice ordered a bottle of it! We had pre-ordered despite this we were given plenty of time to settle before starters arrived. Had the baked camembert cheese and mushroom soup both were very generous in portions!

For mains we had the beef with potatoes, fresh vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and horseradish sauce, again very generous portions. Took some time out before the puddings as we were both feeling full!

Puddings arrived, Belgian chocolate mousse and sticky toffee pudding. Again the portions were generous, we both felt very full. I hadn't taken much notice of the cost of this dinner when reserving and ordering our food however the bill came in at €91 which for a high quality three course meal and a bottle of prosecco I think is excellent value. And of course the usual great service from the team that we have come to expect when visiting Martika's

I never hesitate to recommend Martika's or think twice about taking friends & visitors there because I'm always confident of a very...

Decided to try the newly owned, refurbished and renamed Martika's Kitchen on Tala Square with our neighbours for Sunday Lunch. Martika's have only been opened a week so thought there may have been a few teething problems. If there were they were not noticeable. The atmosphere remained relaxed and calm and the service both friendly and attentive with piped music adding that chilled ambiance which we feel is necessary in any restaurant. We had two of the three course Sunday Lunch option and could not fault the Pate & Onion Chutney Starter nor the Roast Beef and Roast Chicken Main courses. The Vegetables were fresh and cooked the way we liked them and the Beef and Chicken was exceptional with more of the wonderful rich gravy, on request! All in all we were impressed with what Martika, Graham and Family, 2nd Chef Dan and waiting Staff were offering at Martika's and remain sure that it will be an asset to the Village and would thoroughly recommend Martika's its Location and the superb views from the Terrace to all Google searchers!

Honestly an amazing experience which I would would recommend to anyone visiting Tala. Booking in advance is advised, You can do this via the contact details on the website. The staff are all bilingual so if you are an English speaker it's a very easy process. As with everything in this part of the world the portions are generous. However I think they get a good balance between good value and not ridiculous plate sizes here. We were treated to a small glass of soup as a free starter which was a great set up to the meal. Then went for a main course and deserts (can never manage to eat a full 3 courses). We ordered the kilo of mussels, fish and chips and iberico pork fillet. All of which were amazing but the pork fillet was the standout dish. The deserts are also great I would say the chocolate mouse was the best dish of the 3 we ordered. The service is friendly, the views are ace and we were recommended a really good bottle of local wine. All told a corker. We will be back
