⭐ 2/5 - Extremely Disappointing Experience – Overpriced & Underwhelming

We recently visited Devran Restaurant in Cyprus for dinner, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had on the island. The main issue boils down to poor value for money, tiny portions, and a lack of staff knowledge, especially when it comes to English communication.

Let’s start with the food: • Grilled Octopus (€35): This was a shocking disappointment. For the price, we expected a hearty seafood dish, but what we received were four tiny pieces of octopus served with a small side of vegetables (barely 50-100g in total). Not only was the portion size underwhelming, but the dish also lacked flavor and presentation. • King Prawns with Garlic and Tomato (€21.50): Another letdown. The prawns were small, drowned in an excessive amount of butter, and lacked any real seasoning. The quantity certainly did not justify the price. • Special Seafood Platter (€35): This was the most misleading item of the night. It mainly consisted of a large portion of fries and very minimal seafood. You’d expect a seafood platter to highlight variety and freshness, but instead, we received a plate dominated by starch and lacking any real seafood presence.

On top of that, the staff, although polite, seemed quite inexperienced and unfamiliar with the menu. More importantly, they struggled significantly with English, making it difficult to ask basic questions or clarify dish components. This led to confusion while ordering and further contributed to the poor experience. While I don’t fault them personally — they were not rude — they seemed undertrained and unsure.

In terms of value, this place is nowhere near worth the prices they charge. There are many better restaurants in the area that offer quality food, larger portions, and far better service at a much more reasonable price point.

Bottom Line: I would not recommend Devran to anyone. Unless drastic improvements are made to portion sizes, pricing, and staff training, it’s best to avoid this restaurant. Sadly, it does not live up to the expectations set by its menu or...

The staff need training a lot more!

We advised them of a gluten allergy, despite this they then bought the food out with bread on! We told them this was wrong, they went away picked the bread off and bought it back, we told them we can’t accept this, they did resolve this eventually!

They also missed two meals off so two people had to wait longer and our group never got to eat all together!

Good bar in an amazing location but terrible...

They have improved since our last visit. They offer fresh fish. You can even choose the fish yourself. The fish was very tasty. They offer homemade fries and a fresh salad. The fries were tasty, not greasy and well seasoned. Pleasant and helpful service is a matter of course here. The price is a bit higher than it was, but the ratio of quality and price is still at...

A nice beach restaurant on the beach. 25tl for sunbeds 25tl for alcoholic beverages 12tl for cold drinks Good choice of snacks and cold beers Next to the Palm Beach hotel, the last resort for a cold drink or a nice cheap meal and watch the blue waves catching the white gold sand. Brilliand choice. Not too crowded.

About 25% occupancy and waited ages to be acknowledged and served. Incorrect food delivered and described, large bottle of water missing, dismissive staff. Fish appeared to be baked rather than freshly cooked. The burgers, when they eventually turned up were good. Your mileage may vary, but we won't be back.
