My recent visit to Mackenzi left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. I entered the restaurant with high expectations, looking forward to a pleasant dining experience. However, the way my party was treated compared to others left a sour taste in our mouths.

Upon entering, it became apparent that the restaurant staff did not pay us any attention, even though we were standing right at the entrance. We waited for what felt like an eternity before being acknowledged, while the staff seemed perfectly attentive to other customers who arrived after us.

What struck us the most was the stark contrast in treatment when a white couple or group entered the establishment. Without hesitation, they were greeted with warm smiles, seated promptly, and given menus within seconds. It was disheartening to witness such blatant discrimination and favoritism based on the color of one's skin.

Despite trying to get the staff's attention and voicing our concerns, we were met with indifference and an apathetic attitude. It was evident that our presence was not valued or considered a priority.

As someone who believes in equal treatment and respect for all customers, regardless of their background, I cannot recommend Mackenzi. It is essential for every establishment to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of these expectations.

I hope this review serves as a reminder to the management of Mackenzi to address these issues and implement the necessary changes. Discrimination has no place in any reputable establishment, and it is crucial to foster an environment that promotes equality...

This morning we came to Mackenzie bay beach and were surprised with complimentary sun beds and 2 cups of coffee given us free of charge. That actually made us feel grateful and well-treated so we have immediately booked the table for dinner.

During the dinner time once we were accommodated by our table, the waitress greeted us asking if we can switch to Russian, which we didn’t specifically ask for (ourselves being from Ukraine). Sadly the waitress knew almost nothing when it comes to menu or the selection of wine. Also we were feeding the stray cat that was cruising down the restaurant. It took some time (and I bet the waitress did notice us feeding the cat) but then all of a sudden she approached our table and pushed the cat away. Both of us immediately reacted to her behavior: “why are you doing this? We are okay to feed the cat, no need to push it away!”. The answer was “if you feed the cat it might become impudent and jump on the table!”Hell what? Is there any warning sign about it? Is that no longer OK to treat animals respectively in TRNC?

Summary: the location is nice, the food is decent, but the staff could be more polite...

The food is outstanding – fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. Prices are incredibly cheap, you honestly feel like you’re getting way more than what you pay for. Drinks are just under €2, which is unbelievable.

The beach area is a huge plus: sunbeds and umbrellas are free of charge. Technically you should buy something, but no one pressures you – in fact, the atmosphere makes you want to order more just because it feels so nice.

The service is top-notch. Everyone is always smiling, joking, and making you feel welcome. 10/10 for hospitality!

There’s also a beautiful spot up the hill with cozy bungalows. You pay a deposit of 2500 TRY for half a day or 5000 TRY for a full day, but that amount goes straight towards food and drinks, so you can enjoy without feeling like you’re “losing” anything.

The restaurant itself is excellent – both the food and the view are breathtaking. The staff’s energy and friendliness make the whole experience unforgettable.
