Tonight was my first time to try La Boca. I love spaghetti bolonaise and I was happy to see they offer gluten free pasta for a 2.50 add on charge. My complaint is that I was not given a gf spaghetti noodle which is traditionally bolonaise but instead given a corkscrew pasta instead without being told by the cook in advance of making the dish. If the only pasta offered gf is corkscrew please inform the customer so they can order accordingly. I also could not find any mince in my pasta usually all the mince is on top of a bolonaise. I even asked friends sitting with me to help me find the meat, about 1 spoonful was all we could find in the whole dish. Moving onto the salad I ordered 1 for 2 of us to share that neither of us ate. It was the rocket and goat cheese salad. The dressing was a very heavy balsamic and the salad was not tossed in with the dressing, nor was there enough dressing for the amount of rocket. The carmelized onions were vinegary and the rocket had long stems. A different type of rocket that I find at other restaurants would have helped. The presentation of the salad was off also. For 28 Euro it was an overpriced meal considering a bolonaise has plenty of meat which this didn’t and spaghetti is the pasta given for traditional bolonaise. The salad was horrible and there is no service there, you stand and order from counter to counter depending on what food you want. No one offers a menu, no one comes over to see if your food is alright. It’s like McDonalds. For 28 Euro I’d prefer to have someone wait on me, give me a true bolonaise and tell me in advance they don’t...
Read moreWent here with my girlfriend for our last night in Cyprus, and was looking forward to a meal together. Unfortunately, the meal was not eaten together. My pasta arrived 20 minutes after her pizza, so she had already finished by the time I started eating (and she eats slowly). When I complained about this I was told it was because we ordered from different stations. I was given €4 off the meal, and a weak apology. The food is nice, and I want to stress my wait time was absolutely fine. 25 minutes seems about fair- but not when my partners dish took 5 minutes to arrive! If you come here try and order from the same station.
I would not return here, not because of the waiting time issue, but because the restaurant staff didn’t seem to care or understand why this was an issue. They don’t seem to see this as a flaw in their restaurant or something that they need to improve. Without reassurance that this wouldn’t happen again next time, I would not like...
Read moreThis has to be the best Italian restaurant in Limassol. My biggest fear with pasta is when chef tries to be too innovative and tinkers around with the dishes. However, the head chef Luigi has not messed with authentic recipes and kept the soul intact. Every single pasta is freshly boiled. I have been going here for the last 3 years and it has been 100% consistent with taste. I love their Arrabiata and Pesto pasta. The atmosphere is family oriented, always lively and brimming with energy. They have quite a few vegetarian dishes in their menu. They have an in-house adjoining bakery which is great too. Portion size is good. They make the best Italian food and yet they offer it at the most reasonable price. The manager Katerina personally takes care of the customers. The staff is helpful and always smiling. You can not go wrong with Italian food if you come to La Boca. Highly...
