Read moreI am client for 2 years now. Have suggested this place to so many people. However, today I was fully disapointed with their approach. I came with my son (10 yo) to eat. We ordered food and drinks, waitress said that the food would take more time than usual to be prepared. I said no worries, and I asked, since the food would be late, could they serve to the kid a plain half of cyprus pitta, as the kid was very hungry. Of course I told waitress that I will pay extra for this pitta. But, she came back telling me THEY CAN'T BRING HALF PLAIN PITTA TO THE KID BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE IT ON THE MENU 🤦♀️ I felt that these people do not deserve my money and we left this place immediately canceling our order. Down the road, just a few steps from Secret Garden we found a beautiful place with beautiful people insideout! They not only brought piece of pitta to the kid, they didn't even charged it! How much I love and appreciate the local food and traditions, it’s nice to have a piece of quality cake or a gourmet-kinda-lunch in the mountains as well. Maybe you can find similar cafe’s in a city, yes. But mind you, this is far from the city and it’s not easy to maintain. The menu they offer is way more complex to craft, other than most traditional foods. The ingredients they need are more expensive and it’s difficult to anticipate if a bus with tourists might stop by or only a few local come to sit for a coffee.
The pastry is fresh and well balanced by a skilled pastry chef. Try to find a good not deadly sweet cake in Paphos. As a baker I can tell you that’s difficult.
The value of a place like this is often underrated by people who never thought about thinking.
