We've been returning customers for years, coming to Botta for special occasions - reunions with family members from abroad.Until the last week... After our arrival to Botta, we found out, that we have only 2 hours time slot for our dinner and there is already another reservation waiting for the table (no one told us about those 2 hours only slots, when we were making the reservation on the phone). Meaning that if you plan to spend some longer family dinner time with some wine, desert and good chat, you should definitely find another place, because otherwise you'll be asked to leave. When we ordered a starter (some salas and roasted almonds), waitress said, that the cook will not be happy roasting almonds, that he has a lots of things to do. Well, you don't tell this sort of things to your customers in a fancy acting restaurant. You just... don't. Nope. :-( .The cutlery was brought on the plate which has been filthy under the napkin (see photo). As an apology we got previously mentioned roasted almonds on the house. The waiting time for the meals was about 40 minutes which is average, considering that was a peak hour. All meals were well prepared and tasty. Except "svíčková" (sirloin in cream sauce), that was below average. When we ordered a desert, waitress remarked, that it will take 20 minutes. It actually took an hour (and that's a lot of waiting for a desert). Mean time, after 40 minutes of waiting, they asked us to leave because there were people from the next reservation already waiting. When we asked, how about the ordered desert, we're waiting for, her colleague told us with absolute seriousness, that they will pack it, so we can take it with us. Yeah, you don't do those things to your customers either. We kindly refused to take the desert 2Go, because 1) that was not a polite thing from the waitress at all (if we would like a packed ice cream, we would go to supermarket to buy it for tenth of the price, not to the fancy restaurant), 2) we were already waiting for it much longer than we should and in that case its a negligence of the staff and you have the lawful right to refuse such delayed order. Well from some reason, the staff then asked us to stay, wait and finish the desert and asked the people who had the reservation after us to leave or go for a walk or whatever. That just added to weirdness of the situation because we were already not feeling very comfortable in such a place....

Well. That's all. I get the business model, but I'm not the right customer for it. I'm OK with such services in cheap bistros, not in such a restaurant......

Excellent food fast and super friendly staff! 5 stars all over except the atmosphere because of a group of German tourists. I am a Dutch guy living in Germany with my Czech wife and son, so understood everything that group spoke about. First of all: I think it's rude, to just keep on talking German to locals abroad and assume, they understand you! Stuff like "hahahaha, look how cheap it is" or "it's bad, they don't have the menu in German" is a disgrace! Eating like maniacs and splitting a bill is another no go but a real terrible idea is, to check all items on the bill, complain about the prices and even claim, not having had something which was written on the bill and tipping 10 CZK on a total amount of over 1000 CZK...

Liebe deutsche Touristen,

We are returning customers and we go there for the good modern food, nothing extraordinary, but good(kind of the only place in Vrchlabí to go to). But for eating there you will have to stand up with rude to very rude service. Hearing tale how busy it is from 3 waitresses for 8 tables that are standing chatting at their computer. We are a international family and every time we go there and speak another language we are asked for a tip at the end. Just not good enough for the price you pay there. But because of the only option of this concept in Vrchlabí we sometimes return and are every single time amazed at how bad the service is. In summer/weekends when there are students you can be lucky because they are mostly nice there used to be a guy that was quite nice. But as it is in many places, the rude ones seem to stay and the nice ones...

This place was recommended to us due to its perfect cuisine. It is a really interesting place to wisit. We were delighted with the meals chosen and can recommend them to others. Few suggestions for improvement - only one waiter out of 5 was smiling at customers (except of payment), glossy dark details of the interior should be cleaned from dust more often and huge aquarium which should bring wow effect to the customers at the entrance is showing plenty of not really nice scratches.
