BEHOV Rentemestervej — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

We visited this secret gem of a pizza place hidden deep in "Northwest", that we only stumble upon through others and today I was really in a mood for some pizza, usually I'm really down with burgers but today I felt I wanted something else.

Behov Pizza is located in outer Nørrebro called Nordvest in English northwest in a quiet neighborhood. When we drove out there I wasn't sure if it was the right address but when we reached the end of the street we couldn't fail to not notice the place. We came around 2-3pm so it wasn't that busy. The place serve breakfast so I assume they open very early, but we came here for the pizza, so we're going to have the pizzas. Behov have their own combinations that you can pick, or you can design your own. Every ingredient sounded very delicious, I wish I could have them all on my pizza but I ended making mine very simple, American pepperoni, pickled red onion, mozzarella cheese and white pizza dough, my girlfriend Alona got Aruccula, eggplant, shrooms, buffalo mozzarella, Parmesan and whole grain dough, you can also pick gluten free dough and we both pick the tomato sauce which tasted really awesome!

All in all lots of space to dine, very cosy atmosphere, unfortunately we came on a rainy day, so we couldn't sit outside!

really wanted to like this place as we have had good deliver pizzas from there before.

However the service from the shift manager was appealing- whilst asking other guest behind us in the line if they wanted to sit in or outside, we were ignored and therefore found a place to sit ourselves. there were no reserved signs on any tables. the floor manager then proceeded to come and ask us to leave the table and then turned his back and walked away without advice if us where we could then sit. never ever experienced anything like that before. For the food itself: we had two pizzas which looked like come one randomly had dropped a couple of olives and aubergines on it but at least it was nice and hot and pizza base was crisp and tasty.

I ordered take away pizza from Behov several times and I was always satisfied, til yesterday. I know that taking out and eating at the spot can vary especially considering the temperature of the pizza, the texture and so on. But this time was really bad, I don’t know if is because it took so long to arrive but the taste of the dough was not good and chewy. I am Italian and I never not finish a pizza, sadly yesterday I had to. I got curious about the vegan tiramisù since I make a lot of regular tiramisù but became lactose intolerant so I wanted to try. The layer of cream was definitely too much between the cookies (not sure if they were also vegan) anyways there was no cocoa powder which I think can’t be missed as a topping for tiramisù. I am probably not...
