Café Magma — Restaurant in Fredericia Municipality

Today we had dinner here. We are in Denmark for a vacation and googled for a nice restaurant for our last evening. We found Magma. We came in with four adults and one toddler (2). We were quickly seated and there was a safe chair for our son. Ordered drinks came quickly and service was kind and professional. Drinks for our little guy are limited. Just a cheap lemonade would be helpful. Also, don't serve it in a tall glass on a foot with ice. That will make a mess and break glass. Just a wide glass (plastic, with a straw is our advice). Don't forget that the way to the parents heart is through the kids with some extra attention. Three of us chose the burger and one the spareribs. The burgers were delicious. Just the right amount of meat and bread ratio. It fitted perfectly. Bread was good and crispy but not to hard or thick. It was not overthrown with extras.) The extras were delicious. The onions nicely and finely cut and fried. Tomato had a nice full taste and the bacon was crispy and tasteful. Sauce on the bottom was good.

The spareribs were very good. Not draining with dressing or marinade. Nice and slowly cooked so. The meat tender and tasteful dropped off the bone. A good sauce for dipping. Not to spicy but the right kind of kick.

Fries were hand cut with own style mayo. Nice spicy (in Dutch taaitaaipop) mayo I cannot explain in English. Now the big fries were really good but the smaller or tinner ones were over fried. The patatoskin was tot dark and dry.

The extra 🌟 to be gained for extra kids attention (give them something to keep them occupied, special drinks and glass on the wishlist). Also don't overcook the fries. Pick the small ones out.

All in all a great meal in a nice establishment with kind and...

DON’T RECOMMEND!!! We came to this restaurant (foreigners) to eat and to relax. We ordered our food and I ordered one poisition and has shown what I want in the menu. There was one price. The waiter smiled and said okay. When we went to pay, it was in 2,5 more than I waited. I asked why, they said that they cooked other position for me, I asked why, they said cause what I wanted is for kids and there is a small portion, but nobody told me that it was for kids ( and for me it’s fine to have a kids portion) and just gave other dish.. no sorry, nothing. Just ruined evening because no one...

Vi besøgte Café Magma en hverdagsaften lige efter åbningstid kl. 17, og de første 45 minutter havde vi nærmest hele stedet for os selv. Det gav en rolig og hyggelig start på aftenen, hvor vi havde tid til at lægge mærke til de mange fine detaljer i indretningen.

Til forret valgte vi tigerrejerne – og hold nu op, en smagsoplevelse! De var tilberedt perfekt, og smagen sendte os direkte tilbage til Thailand. En absolut anbefaling, hvis man vil starte måltidet med noget ekstra lækkert.

Herefter fik vi en sashi burger, som virkelig imponerede. Den var saftig og velsmagende, serveret med rigtige café-pommes frites og en god aioli, der satte prikken over i’et. Dog kunne min partner godt tænkte sig at der blev spurgt hvor meget man vil have stegt sin bøf, han synes den var for gennemstegt, hvilket er synd når det er kvalitetskød. Børnemenuen med spareribs var så lækre, at de hurtigt blev spist op, og der blev endda efterspurgt flere. For dem, der ønsker noget salat, er der desuden mulighed for at tilkøbe en frisk salatbar.

Eneste lille minus var temperaturen i restauranten ved ankomsten. Det var koldt, og vi måtte sidde med jakkerne på i starten, fordi dørene stod helt åben. Vi lukkede den ene dør ud til gården og en medarbejder fik lukket hoveddøren bedre til, Derefter blev det meget mere behageligt og vi kunne tage jakkerne af. Det er dog til at forstå, at der skal luftes godt ud, når man har det populære koncept med at stege sin egen bøf på en glohed sten. Det så virkelig lækkert ud, og vi kunne se, at mange andre gæster bestilte netop...
