Brasserie 1861 — Restaurant in Helsingør Municipality

I had dinner at 1861, chose their set menu and really enjoyed it. All the dishes were prepared and presented in an imaginative way, and flavors were well-balanced, not over-engineered, striking the right balance between artistic and down-to-earth. The amount of food was just right too.

Great view to the water and good service! Food was good! A regular restaurant would get a 5 for the food, but for the price and “fanciness” level I expected a little more. A few menu elements weren’t made to its full potential and dishes didn’t match with each other in the same menu. Lemon butter was amazing! Very brave combination of flavors in ravioli - fun to try. Lobster bisque didn’t have that “fishy” flavor that it has sometimes - creamy...

We had the best service - she was attentive, friendly and experienced.

The food service was perfect. No overlapping, cold food or long waits between dishes - everything was delicious. Couldn’t get enough of the syrnet fløde(sour cream) in the stir fried hiramasa.
