We’ve been to Kesar many times over the years, and it was always one of our favorite spots for Indian food. Based on our experience in India, Kesar consistently delivered an authentic and delicious experience. So after not going for over a year, we naturally turned to them when our cravings hit — but sadly, this time was a complete disappointment.
The korma was watered down and bland, with chicken that tasted old and off. The butter chicken was extremely sour and lacked any real flavor. The pakoras were dull and lifeless, clearly not fresh — more like they’d been sitting in the fridge for days and simply reheated. There was even a large lump of uncooked dough inside one of them. The rice was just as underwhelming. The only redeeming part of the meal was the naan — thankfully, they didn’t mess that up.
Overall, the food felt stale and reheated, and later that night, we both felt extremely sick. We realized we had gotten food poisoning. I hate to say it, but I’m truly shocked and disappointed. Kesar’s food quality has dropped significantly and is no longer up to the standard we once trusted.
If you’re considering eating there — please think twice. And if you’re craving Indian food, I strongly recommend...
Read moreI had dinner with my friends at Kesar today and it was a nice experience. The staff welcoming and helped us decide the menu. We ordered chicken do piaza, shrimp curry, spinach paneer and malai kofta in curries and garlic naan in breads. The gravies were well cooked and the food was the best indian food I had in Denmark till date. In drinks we tried mango lassi which was good again. I wish to go there again whenever I miss Indian food.
I missed a good dessert on the menu though the main course compensated for the absence for the dessert.
The next time I will be in Horsens, i will go to Kesar for sure to have malabar curry and also the samosas.
I will highly recommend this place to people living in Aarhus as it is a very short drive from there.
There is parking very close to the restaurant which is...
Read moreHonestly the food was better at the old location and the portions were slightly larger. The new naan has a baked quality now instead of a tandoor oven texture and taste. They didn't even have chai, which they used to always have... The worst part, it was a special occasion. My boyfriend and I were beginning to eat and 4 other friends arrived. We asked if all of us could sit together and they didn't accommodate us, even though my bf and I were already sitting at a small table with two other tables next to us (4 extra seats). Instead, they seated our friends at a round table across from us, where we couldn't even talk... They weren't busy and the two small tables didn't have a reserved sign on them. I found that odd. Very bad customer service. Disappointing, doubt I'll return,...
