Hotel Bella Italia started as a restaurant and added the hotel some years ago. This review refers to the restaurant. The food is genuinely Italian, and features pasta, pizza, and many Italian main course staples. The staff is mixed in quality and professionalism. Many of the waitresses are young and probably not trained but working in addition to studying. The quality of the service and the knowledge of the waiting staff suffers as a result. It wasn’t a major issue to us and we took the mixed service level with ease (some party members were handed their plates across other guests even though there was plenty of space for the waitress to go around the table. This gabe us a feeling that she was a bit lazy or simply doesn’t understand normal etiquette). The food took quite a while to arrive at our table, even if the restaurant wasn’t full by any means. The food was nicely presented and the taste was fine. However, we were expecting better taste from an Italian restaurant with, supposedly, Italian chefs. The pasta (Gamberoni and garlic) was bland and the tomatoe sauce seemed to not quite fit with the rest of the dish. The three-course menu was fine but nothing special. All in all this was a fine dining experience, but nothing special and nothing we would have an urge to return to very soon. But we will come back again and try Bella Italia again (this was our third visit).

Read moreWe had a reservation at the restaurant last night at 7 pm. We got the table and placed our order within 15 minutes. The starters arrived quickly and we enjoyed the served meal. Approximately 40 minutes after the table was cleared from the starters, we asked when the main course would arrive, and was told it was on the way. We stressed that we needed to be somewhere else at a said time. At 8:40, and still no sign of the main course, my friend went to the cashier to call the main course off and pay. Not only did we have to pay for the ENTIRE meal - including the main course that was served - but the cashier, who happened to be the owner - told my friend she was unfair for not waiting for the meal to be served. And may I say, my friend never questioned the fact she had to pay for all and not part of the food. A classy restaurant would have apologized for not living up to their standard and would not have charged ANYTHING. I for one will never go there again even if they offered...
