Restaurant Taverna Hellas — Restaurant in Vejle Municipality

I just enjoyed a dinner at Taverna Hellas. Firstly, full stars for the hospitality. Our waitress was amazing, very friendly and with an honest smile. We enjoyed an Agiorgitiko house wine that was very flavorful. I usually don't like dry wine but this one was great. Also, as a greek, I can say that the taste of the dishes was the closest I had so far in Denmark to the taste as if were made in Greece. Excellent tirokafteri and tzatziki with the appropriate balance of ingredients. Usually, in other places they will add extra spices or olive oil but at Taverna Hellas it was trully how we eat them in Greece. The meat was great as well. At the end we enjoyed a karidopita (walnut cake) with ice cream that was very good too. It was exactly how we like it without too much sugar. The prices were ok- as expected for Denmark. A really good Greek restaurant. Looking at the menu I wasn't hopeful for vegetarian options, because apart from starters it has a reference to ask for the vegetarian large plate. This was a very lake plate with pitta on the side. A big selection of food which was really tasty. I wouldn't say this is typical of Greek restaurants in the UK though, smaller menu but really good food. Beer menu slightly limited, but i like carlsberg draught so no complaints. Good atmosphere and really friendly service too. Free jug of water, and the food was very reasonably priced. Probably the most authentic Greek cuisine experience I've had outside of Greece and definitely the best I've had in Denmark (I'm Greek so I know a thing or two about Greek food) 🇬🇷.

The staff was absolutely excellent 🥰, the ambiance made it feel like I was back home, and the food was fantastic and so original that for a few hours I forgot I was in Vejle 🤩.
