AGAVE — Restaurant in Higüey

We got to the restaurant and we saw quite a few open tables. We were a party of 6, got told to walk back downstairs, and wait 30 minutes for our table to be ready. Again, plenty of tables open. 7 minutes later, we get called up. Wait 15 minutes for the waiter. He gives us water, takes drink orders, and then disappears for 10 more minutes. Comes back with drinks and takes dinner order, which after over an hour we got up and left. He had come to the table 10 minutes before we left and asked if we were OK. Worst experience I've had at the resort. Not much room for seating so you feel cramped against other guests and the waiter was incredibly slow at everything. It took 25 minutes just to get a single drink and we didn't get our food until almost an hour after we ordered - where it came out cold and missing sides. The waiter then failed to return to take our dishes or anything else. Super disappointed with our service as the food from other tables seemed hot, ready...

We liked Agave much more than we thought we would. Our favorite server is Elizabeth, she’s so kind and welcoming. She was also our server at The Lobster House for breakfast which was wonderful!
