I tried staying at the property on June 27th through booking.com on the reservation I clearly selected my check in time which was after 8 Pm. I arrived at the property at around 8:30 Pm. As I was walking towards the counter the young man loudly said theres no vacancy. His statement left me in shock because 1. I havent even reached the counter to provide my booking comfirmation # and the booking info which was on my phone and 2. The rudeness in his tone of voice. I told him how can he tell me that theres no vacancy if I already had booked the hotel. If it wasnt for the fact that I was thousands of miles away and in a country which has a current curfew due to the pandemic I would have walked out right away. But I had to stay and argue my reservation. This guy kept screaming telling me to walk away and that he did not have to see the reservation on my phone because that didnt mean anything to him and the hotel was booked. We must have went back and forth for about 20 minutes until the front desk clerk finally said he had a room. He proceeded taking us to the room when we were checking out the room we noticed the ac wasnt working. This is where things again take a a turn. My friend who gave me the ride to the hotel was with me. He slipped and fell on the floor and the same front desk guy who had taken us to the room bursted out laughing right in front of his face. When my friend got up he was covered in water. The room had a broken mini fridge which the door was busted and didnt even close right. This is where the huge puddle of water was coming from. At this point we where both furious. The front desk guy said he would come back and left us in the room and walked away. He came back about 5 minutes later with another room key. We went to another room. This room did not have a big puddle of water but once again the achad problems. He said leave the AC on and by the time I would come back with my wife hopefully the room would get cooler. At this point I had no option but to take the room just because of the curfew situation. The friend who took me lived accross the street so we decided to go back to his house and spend a little more time with him and his family. When my wife and I came back to the hotel at 11:23 Pm the whole place was dark all lights where off and the main hotel doors locked. We walked around the parking lot looking for the security guard or any hotel staff to let us in. After being locked out for nearly 15 minutes we saw someone approaching the lobby doors through the glass doors. Finally someone let us in. My wife walked in with the keys first as I was unloading our bags from the car and she had asked the same front desk guys who had come out from the back room which was the room number and the guy rudely answered he should know already i showed him the room. She couldnt belive it. As i was walking in I heard him yelling the number is written on the key. Which it was but was fainted so we couldnt make out the number. We proceeded to the second floor which was where our room was and opened the door and to our surprise we found another couple having sex in the same room that was assigned to us. We could not belive the nightmare we where going through. We went back down and told the front desk guy this and once again he started yelling saying that we went to the wrong room and that this key opened a door which it shouldnt have. I asked for a refund and he refused to giveus our money back we went back and forth once again for about half an hour this time. At this time another guest came in to check in and was showing him his reservation she had booked for 3 days amd the guy completly ignored her the whole time. That guest left very upset aswell. We called our friend to come pick us back up which he did and had to spend the night at his house. We went the following morning to speak with a manager who apologized and assured to refund the money back to our card. A week later...

I had the misfortune of staying at the Golden House Hotel & Restaurant during my visit to the Dominican Republic, and it was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the property was in serious disrepair and poorly managed.
First, the door to my room was severely damaged, leaving me feeling unsafe during my stay. The lock was not properly functional, and you could see where it had been poorly patched up. As if that wasn't enough, there were exposed electrical wires in the room! This is a serious safety hazard that should have been fixed immediately, but it seems the hotel has neglected basic maintenance.
The bathroom was no better. The toilet didn’t work properly, causing endless frustration. On top of that, the sink was filthy, making it clear that cleanliness is not a priority here. There were leaks, and water pooled on the floor, making the bathroom unusable at times. It’s absolutely unacceptable for a hotel to provide such conditions.
As for the towels, they were old, torn, and had multiple holes in them—definitely not something you would expect from a so-called "hotel." The linens in general were in poor condition, further adding to the overall sense of neglect.
To add insult to injury, when I requested a room change, I was charged extra as if it was an "upgrade." This is absolutely absurd considering the state of the original room. The replacement room was no better, filled with the same maintenance and cleanliness issues. I can't believe that I was made to pay extra for such appalling conditions.
This hotel is a disaster and an embarrassment to the hospitality industry. The management clearly doesn’t care about the wellbeing or safety of their guests. I strongly urge anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. Golden House Hotel & Restaurant is a nightmare you don’t want...

This incident happened within a 2 to 3 hr period. Its so unreal it almost looks like everybody in this hotel were in on it, for a 41/2 star hotel i think is a scam.
