VERY POOR customer service. I had contacted the restaurant to ask for their menu to check what foods they have to offer due to some family food restrictions and tastes as well as to cehck prices. They were rude and refused to provide the menu through email or whatsapp? I have NEVER had a restaurant refuse to provide a listing of their food or prices to me, all have been very happy to assist and sent it over right away. What does this restaurant have to hide? Why wouldn't you offer your current menu to a person? I was told to come to the restaurant and sit down and then I could view the menu. I do not live nearby and before traveling there with my family and visitors I want to make sure it is a suitable place for everyone.

If this is the attitude I received just to get some information, I can only imagine the poor attitudes I would encounter if I took friends and family to dine there. I have dealt with high end restaurants in the U.S. because of my business and even the most expensive and elite restaurants have not refused to provide the menu or prices.

Shame on them! I hope the owners read this review and reconsider their policy. It's a very poor business decision.

Update Apr 9, 2022

My family had dinner at the restaurant this evening since it was quite empty. There was a very limited menu which was quite disappointing and the food to portion size was ridiculous. We ordered an appetizer of shrimp tacos. The tortilla itself was Tiny with one small shrimp and the tiniest little plate of relish to go on top. Nearly six hundred pesos 43 teeny little portions of a shrimp taco that you can literally pop in your mouth. The lamb appetizer was good however again 5 tiny little pieces that were meant to be little egg rolls. The five together equaled perhaps one normal serving of an egg roll. In addition the pasta, pork, and steak dish was very small as well and not quite matching the price. They also have a plate listed as tagliatelle which is a kind of pasta but in fact the dish is not a pasta it is steak and arugula salad mix together. The waiter was excellent and the food tasted fairly well with the exception of the shrimp appetizer but the size of the plate and the cost left us quite upset and we would not return to the restaurant. I could easily go somewhere else for the same amount of money and get larger portions and...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at SBG Restaurant in downtown Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment I entered the restaurant to the last bite of my meal, everything was truly remarkable. Clean Fresh and outstanding!!!

First and foremost, let's talk about the food. The culinary delights served at SBG are nothing short of incredible. Every dish I tried showcased the chef's mastery of flavors and their commitment to using high-quality, fresh ingredients.

However, what made my dining experience at SBG truly exceptional was the outstanding service provided by Ledesma, our server, and Carlos, the restaurant manager. Ledesma's warm and welcoming demeanor immediately made us feel at home. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready to offer recommendations based on our preferences. His passion for the cuisine and genuine desire to ensure our satisfaction was evident in every interaction. Ledesma's attention to detail and his ability to anticipate our needs elevated the dining experience to a whole new level. Carlos, the restaurant manager, deserves special mention for his exceptional leadership and dedication to creating a memorable experience for each guest. He went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly, personally checking in on tables and ensuring that every guest was treated with utmost care and respect. Carlos's professionalism and genuine passion for hospitality were inspiring, and his presence added a sense of warmth and hospitality that made SBG feel like a home away from home. I wholeheartedly recommend SBG to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in...

Wow. Just wow. So much went wrong in such a short amount of time. The first thing that should have set off a red flag was how long it took them to seat us, a party of seven. While it is understandable that such a large party is hard to accommodate, there was hardly anyone in the establishment. Another red flag would be how unprofessional unwieldy the staff was. The second we began to walk to our seats, two waiters dropped a container of unused utensils. This wouldn't necessarily be an issue if the waiters had simply just picked it up quickly at moved on, however they did not. This could all be easily ignored as simple mistakes instead of a staff issue. Even if it was a mistake, what could not be excused was the nearly two hour long wait we were forced to endure only to revive the wrong drinks. These eloquent set of staff somehow managed to give a very pregnant woman alcohol when she clearly stated a multitude of times that she wanted a virgin drink. The server was not even slightly apologetic after being told what he had mistaken. Setting that aside, they simply did not give half of our party their food and moved on to the next table. ( said part was twice as large as ours, arrived later, and obtained all their food before us) My party had gone to downtown expecting a wonderful cultural experience for our family, alas this did not happen as one bad thing happened right after another. The only thing that they did not get wrong was the bill, so for that i'll give them an A+ for effort. Definitely never coming back here, i warn any tourists and even locals that this place is...

I found myself drawn into this restaurant by its lovely aesthetics and welcoming atmosphere. The option for both indoor and outdoor dining was a definite plus, setting the stage for a pleasant experience. The menu leans towards Asian cuisine, and I decided to sample a few items: the shrimp dumplings and the pork belly tacos. The shrimp dumplings, while nicely presented, seemed to be missing a certain je ne sais quoi on their own. However, the accompanying spicy dipping sauce truly elevated them, injecting a much-needed burst of flavor that brought the dish to life. The pork belly tacos were an interesting departure from the norm. Instead of the traditional soft tortilla and tender filling, the pork belly here was fried to a delightful crisp. The resulting crunchy texture was certainly different but ultimately quite pleasing to the palate. Once again, a well-paired sauce played a crucial role in adding depth and character to the tacos. Beyond the food, the restaurant boasts a very appealing layout. The convenience of both reservations and walk-ins is a thoughtful touch, as is the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. For those who enjoy it, large televisions are also strategically placed. Overall, this restaurant offers a pleasant ambiance and some intriguing dishes. While certain elements might rely heavily on their accompanying sauces for flavor, the unique textures and inviting setting make it a place I would definitely recommend checking out.

Great atmosphere amazing service 5 stars all around but the food is lacking. If you want steak go to Turos you’ll probably spend the same amount if you want Chinese food go to PF Changs right next door you’ll save a lot. The atmosphere is great the service is amazing but the sides came out cold. My ribeye was hard and over cooked (I asked for 3/4 it came 1/4 from being burned) the roasted chicken was dry. What saved both dishes was the Chimi churri that came with the ribeye. The dumplings were good as well as the short rib croquetas. But both were Luke warm almost cold. For 6000 pesos that I spent I don’t think it’s too expensive here because the service is great but this is a place where you just eat appetizers and leave.

I had an amazing experience at SBG Kitchen! The food was absolutely delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The service was outstanding—our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. On top of that, the atmosphere was fantastic, creating the perfect setting for a great meal. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a wonderful dining experience. Can’t wait to come back!
