Santorini Greek Restaurant — Restaurant in Alexandria

When we walked in and the place was practically empty, I should have turned around and walked away. I know better than that, but I went (and stayed) based on the good reviews on Google. Honestly, this was my worst restaurant experience in the past 4 years living and dining all over Egypt. The food was the most disappointing in taste. The calamari was ok and the sparkling lemonade was excellent .The spinach pie just didn't meet the mark at all. This is not traditional Greek food. It had an overcooked quiche crust and had sweet pieces of beets under the tiny pie which bled the purple color into the crust. The two entrees we ordered, one which was beef and one a seafood pasta dish, were also super disappointing lacking both in flavor and freshness. My pasta was cold despite us waiting a long time for both the appetizers and meals (especially since there were no customers). I asked for water at least twice, which I never ended up receiving and they didn't provide any napkins at the table so I had to go into my purse and get what I had with me. Super disappointed to spend over 2000 LE here (no alcohol purchased) and not leaving full or content. The waiter didn't seem to know how to deal with the situation and simply said "I'm sorry, do you want me to package the food to take with you?" Then took my money for the check and never returned so say goodbye or give a real apology. Whalahi? I really wished I'd given that money to a poor family and stayed in my hotel room for the night. Such a waste of time and money. I am still in shock of the good reviews of this place. Never again. The proprietor or manager of this place really needs to put some effort into managing this...

I had such an amazing experience at this restaurant! I was hesitant to try it as I had a bad experience in Cairo, with Greek food at a different restaurant and it left me very unhappy it was un edible, however I decided to give Santorini a go because of the very welcome in waiter Ahmed. And I am really so happy that I did!! The restaurant is absolutely stunning it’s gorgeous and I feel like I’m in Greece, however the most important thing is the food and the food is 10 out of 10. The calamari is 100% freshen perfect also the octopus we had for starters was 100% 10 out of 10 and I also had Emma made me feel like back in Cyprus. It was so perfect really highly recommend coming to this restaurant...
