What a sham this restaurant is. There's nothing Chinese about the food here. I was absolutely flabbergasted that this big restaurant is supposed to be a popular place for Chinese food among the locals. After a few days of eating the same Egyptian meal at 6 different restaurants, we told our travel agent to take us out for Chinese food. For us, Chinese is soul food. What a mistake that was! I can only conclude that Cairenes are not aware what real Chinese food is. Maybe at 5star establishments we would have got a better meal, but as travellers, we are more interested in eating at places that give us a taste of local cuisine, not what is served at 5star restaurants worldwide. The only resemblance of Chinese was that, there were noodles and julienned vegetables. We arrived there at 8.45pm, and found ourselves to be the only patrons there. Nobody else had come in, when we left an hour later. The restaurant has a tired and rundown feel about it, like no one cares anymore. The waiters don't know basic English and had it not been for the man with us.... The menu had items like, beef and vegetables, mixed vegetables, fried rice, soup, mentioning nothing else. They refused to allow me to take any photographs of their menu. The washrooms were just about okay, but had broken fixtures and fittings. I really do not like to give negative reviews, but I'm sorry, there's nothing positive that I can say...
